RIP Joan! You are an icon.
So sad she had another 80 years in her….RIP
I'm gonna miss her. She was cool.
She was such a cool broad. I love her! I'm going to miss her so much. I wonder what is going to happen to Fashion Police. Nobody can fill her chair. Nobody!
A bigger question is what's going to happen to Melissa. She has no career without her mother.
Thanks for posting these Enty! I watched the first two. Feel like I should put on a black dress with pearls and take my red boa for a night out. She was truly spot on with her humor. RIP Joan.
I am so going to miss her.
I was fascinated by her when I was a kid. Her voice, accent, the way she dressed, her comedy. She had an unconventional beauty about her. When she was on tv she was the only one you were looking at.
I loved the friendship that always seems to shine between both Carson and Joan. It's such a shame that Carson cut her off and out when she dared to take a late night gig. You can see clearly in the clip that Johnny truly enjoyed her comedy and Joan as a person.
Just makes me miss her more.
That Celebrity Apprentice clip showed Joan and Melissa is a horrible light, especially Melissa.
Very petty, narcissistic and demented. I love Joan but she should not have won Celebrity Apprentice.
Sasha, I thought she should - she worked her ass off, and that other woman (Annie?) was truly a nasty bitch.
Thanks, Enty. Those were great! I'm keeping my Fashion Police episodes on the DVR for a little bit longer.
msgirl- Yeah, I didn't agree with the decision but now I am glad she won. I do like how she always had Melissa's back, right or wrong.
The E! channel bumped the Kardashians last night to do some coverage about Joan and her career, I really enjoyed seeing all the footage and documentary type stuff about her life.
She certainly put it all out there and lived her life full out with no regrets.
Loved her. Needless tragedy. Poor melissa.
No summary of her career would not be balanced if it didn't include her history of racism and hate. Then, the ended up selling tacky-azz jewelry to people ignorant enough to think racism and hate are funny.
I have to agree with you, Jerry. Did she not say that Palestinians deserve to die, like, a month ago? Ugly, ugly human beings say things like that, even when in jest.
I'm sorry for Melissa and Cooper (no matter what I think of Melissa, either) for losing a mother and a grandmother. And that's about it.
Lately, I've been feeling like I'm the only person in this hemisphere who is not a huge Joan Rivers fan. I respect how hard she has worked, and the success she achieved in what was once (and still mostly is) a male-dominated field, but she has always seemed to me to be a relatively nasty person who found a career being herself disguised as "humor".
Relevant to nothing: my mother is in the hospital after suffering several strokes last week; yesterday, she refused to consent to her echocardiogram, because, "It's not natrual to swallow a camers! Look what just happened to Joan Rivers!"
Gee thanks, Joan!
Sigh. That should be "camera", not "camers".
Elissa, I'm the same way. I liked her earlier stuff but when I watched Ed Sullivan clip yesterday she was pretty boring.
So sorry for your mother! I hope she recovers.
Jerry, the way I look at it everyone and I mean everyone except young children until they learn it from the adults around them has some bigotry and racism in them - most of us are just good at hiding it and knowing how to say the right thing because that is how we were conditioned - we were and ARE still tribal creatures and in one way it's a Darwinian survival of the fittest thing. I have to hate anything or anyone that is a threat to my tribe.
When Hamas and the PLO get around to removing the destruction of Israel as one of their main objectives in their formal mandate/constitution whatevs' and the Koran gets rewritten or reinterpreted, then maybe I might feel differently about what Joan said.
All sorts of people are selling stuff all around the world that are a lot worse than Joan Rivers and at least she is far more honest. Always your choice who to like and not like and who to buy things from, whose concert tickets to buy etc but if you dug around deep enough you could find something to hate about everyone on this planet. I know people who hate or hated [Christoper Hitchens was one] Mother Theresa because they don't agree with the Vatican stance on birth control for example and she helped to perpetuate that. There would not be so many orphans for her nuns to look after in many Catholic countries if artificial birth control was not a sin.
Ergo you could end up starving and freezing to death if you take a moral high ground about everything, depending on your "tribes" and how they affect your view of what the moral high ground is.
She's the perfect best friend. Someone with the ability to see the true you and appreciate it, while giving you hard advice... with love and support. And someone to get shit faced with once in a blue moon.
love you joan!
