we stopped that when we just stood and ate it all.
and started to get fat.
I feel that every place of business should have a big bowl filled with weed available at all times for their customers.
No they use the jar to collect tips now
glasses of champagne so we can all feel like Mimi for a moment!
FSP for President!!!
HallowHeisenFave For @7 and all P&R fans <3
I have to agree that alcohol should be available at all business establishments, especially turnpike toll booths.
I had the Asian mix weed snacks once...Soooo good. .
All year long!
Some nail salons have wine. Taste like hooch but it's free
@Sandy, I'm sick of seeing glass jars out for tips at many places. Where will it stop?
@All lace---the convenient store beside my house has a tip jar?!
Kit Kats, Reese's cups, and m&m's only.
(A couple candy corns and See's suckers allowed.)
I liked Enty's idea, but I like FSP's more!
LadyH, that is awesome! We don't answer the door on Halloween (spastic dog that goes into Rambo mood every.single.time), so we put the candy on a stool at the porch entry with a sign that says something like, "Happy Halloween!" I am SO doing Tom Haverford this year!
that's a great idea, my friend
@Lace, you and me both. I went to the liquor store the other day and there was a tip jar on the counter. For what? Ringing up my booze? Do I now need to tip the cashiers at the grocery store? IMO, tips should be reserved for wait staff who make under minimum wage (stupid law) and service people who do a great job (hairstylist, bartender, etc.).
@FSP - I LOVE YOUR suggestion!!! It would be a happier, more peaceful world if we could. But no real freedom in America.
@7 - I did that once.
I stepped into the house for ~30 seconds and someone took the whole bowl, including the bowl. I thought that was pretty dickish.
Every place I go to just has bowls of suckers. I did go to a business last year that had a table full of cupcakes with orange frosting. You know I'm going back again this year. Umm-Umm.
Ideally, they'd have one bowl filled with weed and another filled with candy :)
Only if you have medical for diabetes and dental for cavities.
My liquor store has a bar inside for tastings & a patio if you want to have a cigar, I went in last week & stayed for 2 hours had to call a friend to pick me up.
@Angela u cracked me up.
And. Can you put pizza in a bowl?
Years ago, a cool sweet woman I worked with was the receptionist and always had a stocked bowl of candy in her front desk(company paid for) and she lived it. Everyone came to visit her which they would prob do w/I the candy but they lingered longer with the candy. I filled in for her at times and that candy bowl drive me nuts! I COULDNT GET ANYTHING DONE!
Seriously, that dang bowl became such a deal after a while. I'd move it to a table in kitchen or lobby, and it would be back on my desk!! I had work to do, I paid the bills and employees - that shit has to be timely. But Lawd forbid that dandy bowl not remain in the same spot and stocked!
Hell no. I have a huge bucket in front of me now. Everyone in the office is fighting over the mini kit-kats. I don't get it. I personally think the mini snickers are much more filling.
My typos suck.
Only if they are filled with Peanut Butter Cups
NO BECAUSE EBOLA.
I love Halloween candy: mini Snickers and Twix and Milky Ways, candy corn, and Dots (the gummies that will pull your fillings out). My dentist loves me.
My husband loves Easter for those damn Cadbury Eggs. I've never eaten one, but he loves them so much he freezes them to have throughout the year. Weirdo. Candy corn is way better.
On the tip thing. You know how people never tip at fast food places (even though they do the exact same thing as waitresses at "real" restaurants, yeah, I agree with Mr. Pink)
Well, I managed Long John Silver's (I think I mentioned it on that Duggar blind when I told how shitty they are as people) and the way I ran the store was so smooth, the workers would get tips all the time. It was always clean, food got out fast (we'd hand them their cup and tell them to have a seat and we'd bring it out to them instead of just handing them a tray with food on it and forget about them), we'd go by the tables and while cleaning tables (while wearing gloves), we'd ask them if they needed refills or any more sauce.
Basically we gave them a dining experience instead of the "I don't feel like cooking, let's go get some Long John's, eat it and go" normal thing. It got to the point people would come in and see if I was managing that night and would leave if I wasn't. Once I left the company, the store I worked at was out of business within six months after being the most profitable one in the country the last two years.
But yeah, I was so good, I was getting tips for my workers at a fast food joint and the other managers couldn't figure out why people wanted to work with me and not them.
@Rowdy - we definitely need more managers in businesses (not just restaurants) like you! It seems that most companies are completely stupid though and don't value their standouts like you. I eat out twice daily and find that no matter what kind of restaurant it is, it is often one disappointment after another. Very few people/places take pride in their work as you do.
@AngelBear, thanks! It's like I've always said, I don't like working but when I do I do the best I can and take pride in it. I started as a cook and one day got caught up and started learning the drive through and front of store stuff and helping them, the district manager was there one day and promoted me then and there, after I had only been there a little over a month.
And champagne. All year round.
Louis Vuitton Paris flagship store gives you champagne whilst you, wait for your purchases to be wrapped. I did feel like Mimi that day
Ooh astrogirl! Which store? Did you make any purchases? I'm always too reticent to go into such high couture places.
Good on you Rowdy. I'm sure all your diners preferred the experience.
We have chocolate bars and cans of soft drink, bottled water in the office. We pay fir them, & all the $$ goes to the social club. Nothing, aside from tap water, nothing is supplied. Bring our own coffèe, tea, milk, tissues and cups/mugs.
Bee Haven the store on the The Avenue des Champs-Élysée. I bought a handbag and a collar and lead for my dog
When I was an office manager, I went all out with the candy bowl and seasonal stuff, too.
I went in the weekend after Thanksgiving and wrapped all the pix on the walls like gifts, and hung little stockings with each employee's name on them. It was fun!
I have Hershey's kisses and Reese's mini PB cups at my desk. Attorneys love them. I change out the bags as the holidays roll around. They're red, orange, yellow, and silver now. But I'll be replacing them with the Christmas ones soon (red, green, and silver).
Mine's more popular than the secretary's because I've got the good chocolate candies, and she's got some random, no-brand hard candies. hahahaha
It's the little things, people :)
