Bethany pic looks shopped, if it is or isn't either way she had ISSUES and it's gettin ugly. I'm sure she thinks she looks really good like that. Been there, done that. I was happy. Now I look back at pics and see what everybody was telling me. Really awful looking and unhealthy!! Maybe she'll get over it.

DeleteHi, Lady H! Yes, it was a 6 Flags affiliate until "K". Out at the Chalmette exit off I-10. Scary, creepy, abandoned since... EXCEPT they still use the grounds for movie shoots since the town (metro and 'burbs) has become "Hollywood South". Last one I know of that filmed out there was summer, the latest Jurrassic Park. I think the top-secret name on the script was "Ebb Tide", LOL. They didn't use the "ruins" but constructed a little mini-town, outdoor mall, etc. People going in and out of stores, running from "dinosaurs", etc.

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, as someone who has suffered from anorexia myself (and have been hospitalized and put into treatment and recovered) hearing people say things like "she needs to eat" or "look how skinny she is" don't impact those who suffer from the disease (it IS classified as a form of mental illness). It often takes a catastrophic event to wake them up and and for them to want to seek help or in extreme cases if your weight is below a certain # then dr's can form you and force you into treatment.

*Interesting how Seal Boy could not tattoo the one part of himself he liked (face). This concept has always intrigued me. I recently had this old male colleague say that he didn't realize for a long time that I had face piercings because girls that are pretty like me don't pierce their face. I asked him why he thought that and he said that people only pierce and tattoo things they don't like about themselves and want to camouflage or peacock. I told him very politely that his theory needed some reevaluating.

*I correctly predicted that Twisty would probably be an example of what happens when the freaks don't have a community. This is is Anomie/Strain Theory 101. Once he lacked a troupe and the means to legally perform, he went to the dark side and started kidnapping the kiddos for an audience. Also a nice tie in to remind that "freaks" have a high suicide rate due to stigmatization and isolation. Glad Twisty finally found a new home.
*But now that they have been more integrated, are they still "freaks?" That theme taps into an interesting debate on difference vs co-optation.

She looks perfectly healthy, albeit her regular extremely slender self. But not like that photo; there HAD to be some weird filter or something going on. Really, go check it out.
