Hardly any English people I know here are doing anything for Halloween tonight so I have to hang out with the Irish ones instead...whats up with your people Violet??
Hey Wee. How's things? 2 of mine are too big for Halloween shenanigans now (17 and 14). Littlest V jr (8) went to a party. So I had peace. Which was preferable to trick or treating.
My brother is going as a Darryl the Zombie Killer, my sister texted me a photo of herself with a Morticia Addams wig and green fangs, my nephew is Iron Man, my niece decided anything from Frozen is silly and chose Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas.
@Kara Have you played Hyrule Warriors? AWESOME game, best I've played in 2014.
OT: I'm taking my nieces and nephew to a Halloween party (their Mom is tired after having a newborn the last two months) and I'm going as Ace Frehley (Love Gun era) as requested by the nieces.
@Rowdy, Is That Really You??- GREAT AVI ...& you're one Very Kooool Uncle to help your sis out & dressing up as Ace Frehley is the caramel on the apple guy!! cheers to you!
It's actually my ex-sister-in-law, but the problems she and my brother have were between them, she and I have always gotten along and I do still call her sis.
I told my nieces to pick out my costume and they ran in my room and got my Destroyer album and said "Be him!" pointing at Ace. (They are 7 and 5 and I've taught them classic rock is better than the crap they play now lol They love KISS and The Beatles. The youngest says "Here Comes the Sun" is her song and the olodest says "Beth" is her song lol)
My husband is going as Buddy Holly, our daughters are going as monsters and penguins and I am going as me with soon to be born #3's "arms" busting out of the belly of my shirt holding a tiny trick or treat bucket.
Hey Violet! How are you? You look adorable! Yes, still pregnant. I have 31 days to go! We've got a first name picked out but can't decide on the middle. Thanks for the wishing us luck! <3
My oldest son is an autumn tree, my younger son is The Man in the Yellow Hat from Curious George and my little munchkin daughter is Rapunzel. The tree and the Man in the Yellow Hat were made by me!
@Stacey my youngest niece is going as Rapunzel, too. The other is going as The Black Cat (The comic book character) and the nephew is going as The Amazing Spider-Man
I'm not dressing up tonight (I have candy pass-out duty) but when we went to a party this weekend, I was a Stepford Wife (pearls, pink gingham apron, white gloves... the works) and the other half wore one of the MANY former Cleveland Browns QB jerseys we have and was an unemployed NFL quaterback. The little kids are going as River Song from Doctor Who and Cat Woman (think more Eartha Kitt, less Halle Berry.)
Best costume I saw was a couple we know who went as "Jake from State Farm" and the housewife who ends up on the phone with him ("she sounds hideous!" lady)
Stew I hope your husband chose to be Brian Sipe, retired Brown QB. He went to my high school before I was there. He still lives in San Diego, where he grew up. I saw him at a Padre Game several years ago and he still was quite handsome.
My daughter is going as a mouse & my son is Zach from Big Brother, lol. We're having a fire on the driveway & handing out beer and horchata shots for adults. Fun times!
I'm going as Princess Anna of Arendelle and my daughter is going as Queen Elsa. Her big brother BAILED on me two weeks ago, so they're going as a Zombie Hunter (we couldn't find a Darryl costume, but we did get his ear necklace,) and Foxy (from Five Night's at Freddy's.) They were supposed to be Kristoff and Hans.
But that's okay,I'm not going to share the candy all my coworkers gave to Gracie when I escorted the preschoolers around the building.
Me nine. 5 grandchildren, 4 gals and one boy. Boy is something hreen and slimy, cat, 1 tiger, 1 little bo beep from toy story, one pink cowgirl with pink cowgirl outfit, complete with big rhinestone studded pink cowgirl hat. .Shockingly, no Frozen characters! Lol
@Auntliddy To be honest, when I found out they were having their first baby, I didn't think they were ready (they weren't) and wasn't really happy about it. But after a few weeks of thinking about it, I figured that if I was going to be an uncle, I was going to be the Uncle EVERYONE wanted. When Amaiya was born, I had so much stuff for her, it looked like I was the one having a baby lol
But it worked, every single one of their friends "try" to call me Uncle Chris (Amaiya and Myzie only let certain people call me Uncle Chris, they'll say "NO! You can call him Chris, Mr. Chris or Mr. (last name), he's MY Uncle Chris" or "You can call him Uncle Chris, it's OK for you" lol)
(Not sure if you can see it in the pic, but those 4 shelves, actually store shelves from a store that closed down, behind me are full of vintage 80's Transformers that they say are mine and theirs.)
@Aunt Liddy!! Long time no talk! I'm pretty good, just ready to have this baby boy! How are you? No, not college yet LOL! The girls are 3 and 19 months. How old are your grandkids?
Robot- 2 not enough fir ya, eh? Lol. Good luck with soon to be born boybot. My grandchildren are 11,9,8,5,3, most soon to age up a year- dec and feb being big bday months in our family. Only boy is 9, 8 yr old my daughter daughter, lives im another state. We text and facetime. Ive been in the dollhouse, in with crab tanks, looking out at snow- u name it, lol. Rest are my son and dil, and they live 15 mins from us. We see them ALOT, and enjoy the hell out of them. You take good care of babybots and have a great delivery. :)
Taking a bit of a break from getting ready, the nieces are getting their costumes on and the nephew has been wearing his Spider-Man costume all day according to his Mom, so I have him watching my bootleg "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" DVD collection (Why has this not been released officially as a full series on DVD in the US?)
And there has been nothing funnier than my youngest niece looking at me and laughing saying; "Look at Uncle Chris putting on makeup...Want some lipstick, too?" I made her laugh more by saying, "Yeah, there's a stick of black lipstick on my dresser I'll need, can you get it for me?"
An aside, they liked the Stein's Liquid Silver makeup I'm using for the Ace costume, so I had to find a way to use it on them, I gave the cat a silver nose and Rapunzel some silver eyelids. (I've dressed as a KISS member before, so I know the official makeup they use and how they do it. It was a pain to get the Stein's Silver here on time, had to express rush it.) The only thing I'm doing different is using black lipstick instead of using the actual black facepaint on my lips, it makes them swell up bigger than Julianna Rancid's.
I was also lucky the next door neighbor can sew, she put rhinstones on my tights in the exact spots the pictures I showed her had. Plus, she's a cute single mom and we now have a date next week and my ex-SIL is going to watch her daughter for her. Glad my nieces picked this costume, turns out she's had her eye on me but didn't know how to make a move and vice versa. I just joked me needed to get her out of the house and a movie or something at least. "Finally!", she said, "I've been wanting one of us to make a move or something for the last six months!" God my nieces are the best things in the world.
@All Lace No Leather I'm glad you've enjoyed them. Every part of my stories are 100% true take a quote or so. I've had a cool life for a nobody from Arkansas lol
Oh and other then the date next week, I'm still single! (looks at picture on the right side of the screen and laughs hysterically thinking anyone will ever really be into him. Forever Alone; a scarier reality than any movie, book or fantasy carved in the mind of Satan himself.)
Rowdy, as eloquent as that was, don't be hard on yourself! Your cute neighbour is obviously into you! Hope it goes well. Maybe lose the lippy and tights for the date though! ;-)
@All Lace, just saw this. No, he was Brady Quinn. My Sipe jersey, from WAY back in the day, didn't fit him. Although I don't think the sign he had around his neck ("Will Work For Endorsements") would have worked as well with Sipe as it does with Quinn. Oh, and I still swoon over Sipe. That is one seriously good looking man!
See pic. Zombie skeleton pirate. We mix and match in this house.
