Blind Items Revealed #1
November 11, 2014
An actress reached out to me several weeks ago and told me she read all of the blinds on the site and was especially interested in the ones that dealt with on set abuse because she is a survivor of it herself. Our actress was on a very hit show back in the 70’s. Very hit show. A family values type show. She was in almost every episode of the show and had some episodes where the story focused on her. She was probably B list at the time but has not really worked since. When we spoke she said she wanted people to know what it was like on the set for a female teen and how things were completely different if you were a male teen or a man on the set. It was an ensemble show and there were lots of parts for both men and women and lots of roles for teens. She said that the first day she walked on the set she could feel a million eyes on her. She had just started to develop and she had men in their 30’s and 40’s and older telling this 14 year old how hot she looked and they couldn’t wait to get to know her better. You would be in school on set but if you had a scene you would leave and shoot and come back. The guys never had to come back if they didn’t want to. If you were a girl in the class the only way you would not have to come back is if you were with an actor on the set. And by with they meant having sex with him in his trailer and after that you would go back to class unless he really liked you. Lead actors and producers and some other crew members could sign you out of class so you would end up staying with them all day and not doing any work. Drug and alcohol abuse were common because you had these people with no parental controls and these older men taking advantage. She said that she lost her virginity on set to an A list actor who always got first pick of virgins. She though she was different and that he liked her, but the next month he found someone else and he found someone every month for the entire run of the show. Pregnancy and abortions were common among the teens because the guys refused to use condoms and parents couldn’t be told what was going on so there was no birth control pill usage or very little. If you got pregnant you would be given a week off with pay but your parents were not told. You would go to work on Monday and have the procedure and then spend the night at a friend’s house and then show up at work the rest of the week, but not have to work. One teen was bleeding really heavily the second night when she went home to her parent’s house after shooting and the parent’s complained and were given some money but the girl was written off the show.
I agreed to not release her name, but the show was Little House On The Prairie
This
ReplyDeleteReally? I mean.
Happy Saturday?
Sorry sorry, it would really juicy if there weren't so many underaged and forced abortions. Killed my gossipboner
ReplyDeleteI assume we're talking about Allison whatsit here? the blonde one who was the daughter of the grocery store owners? And the A lister was Michael Landon?
ReplyDeleteNelly ftw.
ReplyDeleteMichael Landon
rob Lowe was an extra back in the day when he was a kid/ nobody. .
This did not shock me until the last sentence. I thought it was Cosby or facts of life. I'm going to go throw up now.
ReplyDeleteIn case everyone hasn't figured it out yet, Hollywood is a cesspool and it seems almost everyone is preying on someone else. Even a clean, family show like Little House is not immune.
ReplyDeleteIt's not the actress who acted Nelly Olsen .She lives 90% of her time in France with a "friend" and when she promotes, she explains her teen years were very sad ( she often raped by a member of her family ) and she stays close of some members of the tv show
ReplyDeleteJason Bateman was on that show
ReplyDeletekyle Richards too
I bet kyle has the best gossip in town between kyle Kim and Kathy those bitches could tell tales!!!
3 girls who were trained to be acaress /escorts by big momma Kathy. I'd love to hear from them..
Shannon Doherty
ReplyDeleteJust because she lives in France doesn't mean it's not her. The blind says she doesn't work anymore. The blind says she was in almost every episode and they sometimes revolved around her. I'm guessing not one of the Ingalls girls. Still sticking with Nelly Olsen. Shannon Doherty was on when she was about 11-13.. still to young for an abortion I think. .
ReplyDeleteHas to be Nellie. Shannon was not on almost every episode. She joined the show during Little House A New Beginning which was very late into the run of the show. The only A list male on this show was Michael Landon which is just so disturbing on so many levels. It is well known that Landon was an alcoholic and drank from first thing in the morning and all day on the set. Family values indeed.
ReplyDeleteit could be MS Anderson i suppose? I remember reading that everyone on the LHOTP set hated her. Not that that's relevant.
ReplyDeleteMelissa Gilbert?!
ReplyDeleteWow! I was going to reply: 'It can't be Shannen Doherty because she would have been pre teens on 'Little House.' I worked crew on 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun' in 1984-85 when she was 15. (Always thought she was going to be a star, and when I said that to her on set one day, she replied, 'I hope so and thank you!)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, on second thought, maybe it is her, because she 'fits' the clues. (But, so does Helen Hunt. I worked on 'Crimes of Passion' with Kathleen Turner, too, which had Helen's dad, Gordon, in a small role.) I truly hope Shannen is okay. I always thought her 'difficult on set' personality was a result of some form of abuse.
“on set abuse”
ReplyDeleteThat infamous icarly set of Nickelodeon kids channel. I bet that would blow the lid of everything.
Didn't Nelly start the show as a child? This makes it sound like they started as a teen.
ReplyDeleteIn retrospect, it is truly appalling that men treat young girls/women so badly in Hollywood. They all deserve the same treatment that was recently given to Gary Glitter.
ReplyDeleteCan't be Melissa Gilbert. She's still working. My first guess is Allison Arngrim, but it could be Melissa Sue Anderson.
ReplyDeleteYou can really narrow it down by the phrase was on almost every episode, some featuring story line around her character. That really can only be Alison arngrim, melissa Gilbert or melissa sue Anderson. I think Nellie because she speaks out in the media more than the other two.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me so sad! I wonder if the same thing happened on The Walton's set? Was it like this on every set? The last place I'd have thought this would have happened, was on Little House. Damn.so so sad.
ReplyDeleteWhoever you are..I'm so sorry this happened to you! I'm sending you lots of love and hugs. xoxo
The only ones that didn't work after were Lindsay and Sidney Greenbush, who had one credit in 1983 and nothing after (though according to age they would've only been 12 when they left the show). Melissa Gilbert, Melissa Sue Anderson and Alison Arngrim all have ongoing credits. Those would have been about the only ones who were in "Almost Every Episode" The most likely candidate would be Melissa Sue Anderson, since the blind states "the first day she walked on the set she could feel a million eyes on her. She had just started to develop" She would have been 13 in 1975, the second season. Unless enty told a fib somewhere to hide the identity (like about her working after)
ReplyDeleteStill trying to figure who the girl who was written off .. this one hurts since I used to enjoy this show. Almost enough that I don't want to make The "Highway to Heaven" joke I immediately thought of
ReplyDeleteAllison was 12 when she started on the show, MSE was only 11, and she definitely looked like an 11 year old when she started. I think it has to be Allison. Allison and MSE worked after but when are their most recent credits?
ReplyDeleteBoth Argrim and Anderson were written off.
ReplyDeleteHoly Shit. I know we're all used to this with Dan Schneider and his whole shit show but this is pretty huge. No way Landon didn't know about this, I think this is Nellie for sure.
ReplyDeleteaccording to wikipedia, MSA was born sept 1962, that'd make her almost 6 months shy of 12 when the show started airing March 30, 1974, you're right. and Arngrim was born January 1962 so she'd be 13 in the second season. And given Arngrim had only 2 creds between the show ending in 1983 and 2000, you're probably right that it'd be her
ReplyDeleteAlison and melissa sue weren't really written off. They both decided not to continue due to money. I think I remember they didn't want to pay them much to continue on so the opted to just leave. I was thinking maybe Kyle Richards who disappeared even though Edwards was still on show.
ReplyDelete" She said that she lost her virginity on set to an A list actor who always got first pick of virgins."
ReplyDeleteHow sad. Michael Landon was the only person on that show who could have ever been considered A list.
It is sickening that it is always people like Michael Landon (who mostly did "Christian" type programming) and the dad from 7th Heaven that do these sorta things. Although I never watch that crap---I will stick with my trashy reality shows.
ReplyDeleteAnd this was family oriented show.Wow.
ReplyDeleteHate to say it,but would not be surprised if it was Michael Landon ,
as I have heard many unflattering stories about him and girls and women
before he died.
How sickening.

Melissa Francis... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melissa_Francis
ReplyDeleteGummibear: I am NOT an attorney. I am a Commercial Real Estate Broker in Las Vegas. However, my best friends/golf buddies are attorneys. One attorney friend lives and works in Hollywood. His brother has produced several hit TV shows. Another friend is an editor on another hit TV show. I quit Hollywood mid 80's because I got tired of the 18 hour work days, 6 days a week. Besides, I married and had a child and Hollywood was interfering with new family life. You can check me out at: www.davidhowes.net. (Hopefully, Enty will allow this.) I am currently working 2 large resort sales. (Caesar's is not one of them.)
ReplyDeleteI forgot. If you click on my name, it takes you to my website!
ReplyDelete@alice, Melissa wasn't on nearly every episode. Didn't come into the picture until season 7 or 8'i think.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED that movie!
ReplyDeleteOMFG
ReplyDeleteThis is beyond disgusting! I'm going to say Melissa Sue Anderson or the chick who played Nellie... Allison something.
ReplyDeleteMelissa Gilbert IMO had too good of a friendship with Landon.
If it's good "family" programs I guess that means it's total debachury behind the set.
Melissa Francis was born in 1972 and appeared in season '81-82, a bit too young for this blind I think but Hollywood is a cess-pit and the blind is so disturbing even that wouldn't be too far a stretch
ReplyDeleteMost of those family shows back in the day was like an orgy set. Paedophiles could do anything those days and get away with it, oh the power they had,
ReplyDeleteAs appalling as this is, and it's extremely appalling, one should bear in mind that it is very recently indeed that girls, even in the US, aren't regularly married off as teenagers. My mom, from small town Texas, had several HS classmates who married by 14 or 15. And this was in the 1960's. Not to mention her best friend, who married her HS basketball coach at 16. Thank God that social conventions and laws have changed to the point that we find the exploitation of teenage girls as reprehensible as it is.
ReplyDeleteMelissa Sue Anderson. She played Mary Ingalls and was in most episodes. She was 12 years old when the show started so she seems to fit the BI
ReplyDeleteTo the brave woman who has told her story here through cdan; you are a survivor, and I hope that talking about your past has helped you. Talking about it to the police may help you even more, and would certainly help other vulnerable people in potentially dangerous situations now. Whilst some individuals may no longer be around, structures of abuse and power still exist and it takes brave women (and men) like yourself to take that power back and stop and convict these people. Cosby, W Allen, Yewtree in the UK - survivors are speaking up against media rapists and people are listening. You are not alone and together we will end abuse.
ReplyDeleteLandon holds the record for most years as a network series regular, along with Harry Morgan, at 27. ("Bonanza" for 14 seasons, "Little House" for 8 and "Highway to Heaven" for 5.) I guess we know why he was so glad to keep up the regular grind, huh? A new virgin every month for eight years? Even if Arngrim's exaggerating a bit, that's astonishingly appalling.
ReplyDeleteHow two-faced of Landon, given the tragedy of his own adolescence (his mother was depressed and suicidal, once trying to drown herself in the Atlantic Ocean and Landon had to rescue her; because of the stress in dealing with this, Landon was a bed-wetter and his mom would hang the sheets outside to humiliate him, so he ran home every day from school to take them down before anyone else could see), would prey on young girls this way. Seriously messed up.
I read Alison Arngrim's Confessions of a Prairie Bitch, and she was very forthcoming about her older brother raping her from a young age, how Michael Landon drinking on the set, along w/ other of the crew and adults too. She was very forth coming about set life, and I think she would have revealed if she assaulted on set. She did mention that Melissa Sue Anderson was very withdrawn, quiet, and pretty much kept to herself. Alison said she only saw MSA smile once on a trip to Disneyland w/ her and Melissa Gilbert. Though the victim might fear being sued for libel by Landon's family and/or estate. As the star, I think Melissa Gilbert was spared this, and probably Alison too. I think with her childhood Alison would know how to avoid predators. I have pretty much lost all respect for Michael Landon. I grew up watching that show and Cosby, and thought "Why don't I have a cool family like that?", now I realize those "Families" were way worse than anything I grew up.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing Anderson...she was beautiful, has said before that men much older than her were perpetually inappropriate with her, the other young girls on set were jealous of her beauty and sort of formed a clique against her, and she always seemed a little sad. She hasn't acted much since. I think it's her.
ReplyDelete'Cesspool' is absolutely right. Although I have to say this blind item really shocked me and hurt to hear. I grew up with this show, cried so many times at so many of the episodes and got so attached to the characters. So this one definitely stung.
ReplyDeleteYou've gone too far. This is lawsuit-worthy slander. I was there every single day of shooting. EVERT SINGLE DAY! Whether on camera or not. I am appalled not only by this "blind item" but by the commentary from the people on this website.
ReplyDeleteI am astonished at the low down dirty and disgusting allegations, insinuations and inferences made by everyone here.
Despicable.
Disgusting.
Pathetic.
I hope you have good lawyers.
The previous comment was posted by me. So infuriated I misspelled my own last name.

ReplyDeleteWe're with you Melissa. We do not believe for one moment in this history. We know your values, do not worry. Hello from France!
ReplyDeleteMelissa Gilbert,
ReplyDeleteFUCK YOU BITCH!
Nellie Oleson, is that you?
ReplyDeleteLana,
ReplyDeleteWell, you got me with that eloquently crafted retort. So impressive!
Are you a professor of English?
I believe this is Melissa Gilbert---she is known for being active on social media.
ReplyDeletewhoa..
ReplyDeleteI agree with Derek and you @PlanetJ..(oh dear).
ReplyDeleteIf this is Melissa I feel terribly this blind was published/revealed;and while I did not participate in the thread, I tend to believe(or hope to), that due to often exaggerated and salacious nature of the site, that most of our commentators here did not seek to cause insult or injury......
Michael Landon had a HUUUUUUGE YKW. I can see why Melissa is so angry at this ungrateful woman complaining.
ReplyDeleteWell, than why did Allison or Melissa sue give the heads up? Possible you were just not the one hit on?
ReplyDeleteHaving come back here from one of June 17th's blinds, I can't believe anyone was accusing Michael Landon of being the abuser just became he was A list, when there were many, MANY A list actors that came through Walnut Grove as guest stars or in short term roles.
