ReplyDeleteor liam neeson who looked really gaunt at his son's art opening i thought
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope not! I've been liking Liam Neeson since he's started physically morphing into Bobby Troup, of the 1970s paramedic procedural, Emergency!
ReplyDeletegood guess @back again Neeson is at that age....
ReplyDeletethanks @sandy- I hope it's not so though..
ReplyDeleteGary Oldman
ReplyDeleteLike Need In guess but he's been doing action long time
*neeson
ReplyDeleteThat's on Netflix, btw
ReplyDeleteIf they caught it early enough, it's unlikely to kill him. Prostate cancer can be very slow growing after testosterone production tapers off. Many older men die from other stuff after diagnosis and not from the prostate cancer. In that case, they die *with* cancer, not *from* cancer. Some docs have pulled back from aggressive screening and treatment after a certain age, because it's unnecessary. About 15 years ago, the NCI had a big push to turn around the death-from-cancer statistics. One result is that in some cases (there are a zillion kinds of cancer), cancer has become a chronic illness that's treated for a lifetime, but doesn't greatly impact a lifespan. It's just there like diabetes or HIV.
ReplyDeleteThis Things-You-Don't-Care-About-Regarding-Cancer paragraph brought to you by my job.
@Tricia, maybe but Gary Oldman looks awfully healthy(robust even)with his mum shopping in L.A. in D.M. pics a couple of days ago. Then look at NY POST pic of Liam with Salma Hayek from Saturday(sorry i don't know how to paste)
ReplyDeletei know Prostate Cancer Treatment doesn't even show signs(ie weight loss, grey color) for a long while in some cases so,he might not show any symptoms but...i still think Liam's looking wan.
ReplyDeleteFirst time comment! Colin Firth. He just did Kingsman but I truly hope not because he will always be my favorite Darcy.
ReplyDeleteHi @Amy,Colin Firth was my 1st thought too with "Kingsman" & looking like he lost weight. Then I saw him looking feisty in pics on set filming "Teignmouth" this week.
ReplyDeleteHugh Jackman. He said he's not playing Wolverine anymore. And he's broadway too.
ReplyDeleteColin did look sickly for awhile, so thin. Now he looks much better.
ReplyDeleteWhoever it is, good luck.
Have a friend who underwent prostate cancer treatment last fall. Looked fine the whole time, most people had no idea.
ReplyDelete"Nooooo, not Colin!" was my first thought. It's the "of late" phrasing.
ReplyDeleteWonder if it could be Jackman?
ReplyDeleteMy father ( now 88) was diagnosed with prostate cancer but in stead of radiation/chemo/ surgery they decided to give him hormone injections every 4months instead. That was 7years ago and his tests are always minimal on cancer activity. The injections are expensive but have worked brilliantly. If it's caught early it can be treated relatively easily.
ReplyDeleteThat's great! Androgen deprivation is pretty standard prostate cancer therapy.
