Blind Item #4

The wife of this A+ list mostly movie actor thinks of herself as a screenwriter. Not so much. She has been dropping the name of her husband to get meetings and has an agent. The agent realizes it is a crap script and doesn't want to send it out for fear of being associated with wasting the time of people. So, she has been going out and everyone hates it but won't say so for fear of the husband not wanting to do something with them. It is not George/Amal.

Good one @kno..either him or Damon. Its a wife that is either low radar or no real career..Susan Downey has produced and exec produced most of Roberts films for the last 15 or so years and was a powerhouse when they met..he had to drop her name I think ....

Idk. As Susan Levin she was listed as a producer on five different films before they married. She was a VP of some production company before that. Wouldn't screenwriter be a downgrade from producer?

So she writes "crap scripts". She will fit very well in current hollyweird, she should hire sean penn as the leading actor (for being a walking crap), and another of the many talentless thespians from these days,

Whether or not "powerhouse" is accurate, she had a solid career going. Entertainment news items dated to before the marriage mention her favorably, and she met RDJ on the set of the first movie she solo produced, after doing yeoman's work as associate producer on a number of solid if not block-buster releases. Susan Downey doesn't have to drop her husband's name to get someone to take a look at a script - she had plenty of powerful friends in the business before him.

She did 4 movies before marrying Robert and they were pretty much ALL bombs. No one gives a shit about Susan unless Robert is attached. HENCE THE BLIND. She is a great manager of his career--no doubt about that but please do not spew inaccuracies to back your disdain for my correct guesses. We already have another knitwit here that is pretty good at that.

  17. Elsa Petaky? IDK. I feel like a lot of y'all's guesses are good but these are all established Hollywood people on some level. It's not like Jada Pinkett getting herself an agent would be a big deal, although she was my first guess before I got to that part.

Hey, all I know is what Google turns up. Susan Levin was not a nobody. Not a major figure, from what I'm seeing, but not a nobody. Besides, just making it to producing your own films takes SOME juice. Anyway, producers rarely if ever get blamed for box office duds - "Gothika" didn't bomb because of bad *production values*. Plus, the number of movies she's been credited as producer on indicates she has Hollywood connections in her own right. "Executive Producer" may be a meaningless credit, but a "Producer" credit means you actually did some real work. There are guild rules about that.

But the most telling bit is the mention of name-dropping - Susan Downey doesn't NEED to drop any names. Everyone in Hollywood knows who she is and who she's connected to. The blind says that the spouse has been dropping her husband's name to get meetings. Everyone who thinks that one-half of one of the most high-profile industry power-couples in H'wood needs to drop her husband's name to get a meeting, raise your hand. Yeah, thought not.

This is someone without a profile of her own. Someone whose name is not known. Someone about whom a Hollywood exec might say, "Who the fuck is she?" until her husband gets mentioned.

Susan Downey doesn't fit that profile.

@Doctor only add that With her years as Exec Producer of Production for Joel Silver @Dark Horse Entertainment (only stepped down to work exclusively with hubby), that she was/is a heavy in her own rite.He is- well- 1 of the biggest Film producers in the biz, and she ran that show successfully (and he ain't easy).
