Blind Items Revealed #3 - Old Hollywood

October 9, 2015

This A+ list mostly movie actor for most of his career almost didn’t go to the premiere of his biggest movie, which some consider to be the best movie of all time because one of his co-stars was not invited. She did win an Academy Award for her performance though.

Clark Gable/Hattie McDaniel

Way to take a stand Clark supoorting her like that,.but maybe the premiere shouldn't have been in Atlanta when so many of the cast were black and considered sub-human at that time.

@sandy - Given that Margaret Mitchell was born in Atlanta and the movie was set there, they probably didn't have much choice.

Puhleeze, Loretta was a casting coach queen, claiming to the public to be a good catholic girl.

The "almost" part reminds me of Helen in Death Becomes Her. "My publicist said, Madeline Ashton goes to the opening of an envelope. So I fired her. ~pause~ Well, I almost fired her."

Shady..if you dig into gables' life, he was not known for bucking the system or being very forward thinking..he might have expressed this on Lombard's behalf.
