I had an ex who dumped me. I guess I moved on faster than he liked (though AFTER he moved on, so WTF?), therefore he always felt the need to initiate contact with me to "check in" and let me know how great he was doing, how good his projects were going, how he was going to ask his girl to marry him, etc. He kept checking in even after they were married and one day I told him I didn't understand his need to keep trying to one-up me like I was the one who dumped HIM. Like, WHY do you feel the need to keep insinuating yourself in MY life if it is going so well? Pissed him off royal and I never heard from him again.
