This former A list “singer” is so into herself and her own little world inside her head that she didn’t even know that a long time co-star on her show had a baby.
Paula's been on various meds for years due to the toll the years of dance and gymnastics took on her body and all the injuries. Wouldn't surprise me if she ends up another OD from prescription drugs.
I remember sitting in an espresso cafe in Greenwich Village back in the 80s and hearing a man sitting at the table next to me talking about, 'That ugly Arab b----, Paula Abdul.' My daughter, then a professional dancer, looked over at him and said, 'First of all, Paula is my she-roe. Secondly, she is a Moroccan Jew. Bigoted much?!' Jessa was 9 at the time. I was so proud of her!
Holy Crap-- I literally was thinking the same thing @Sandy & thinking hey,that's not soooo surprising b/c Cat's always been pretty private but i was also thinking where the hell have I been & what the hell show was she regularly guest judging on b/c it seems TOTALLY out of character for her--but I somehow missed the last name & thought this was CAT POWER...(need NoDoz STAT)....who ALSO had a baby last April--She's a 'Cat' of a TOTALLY different color--i thought this was the strangest Blind,lol.
If I recall correctly, they used Paula's real voice but enhanced it by overdubbing with someone else. I don't know if autotune was around back then but there was electronic manipulation of some type for her. She always lip synced at shows but I don't hold that against someone who's doing heavy duty dance routines like she did.
alright why the quotes around singer for Paula? i know she doesnt have a phenomenal voice but is she known for lip syncing?
