Blind Item #9

This reality show host put his career on the line last night. He was told to be a little less front and center in his beliefs but crossed the suits anyway. Good for him for sticking up for his beliefs. I'm just not sure he will get another job if he gets fired from his current one.

Nick Cannon was at a Black Lives Matters rally, I think. It was on TMZ. I think it was a BLM rally.

I'm sure that 65-35 viewer vote last week in favor of Trump shocked him and producers on WWHL and he did seem a little subdued last night but hard to believe anyone watching doesn't expect him to be anything but a huge Hillary fan.

  9. I know this is going to get me in trouble, but...

I understand that Black Lives matter, as well as Asian lives, and Caucasian Lives, and Hispanic/Latino lives. Did I forget a group?
I just don't need to be hit over the head with it everyday.
    I get it.
I've seen white people (who were not co-operative with police) get taken down roughly, cuffed and some shot while still be unruly.
My moto is: if the police pull you over: cooperate -- even if you think they are in the wrong. That's what court is for. That's why I am friends with attorneys.

    Okay, internet bullies: hit me.

Why does it bother you though? And if someone disagrees with you that makes them an internet bully? Were you just trying to illicit a response, because that's what it seems like.

It's because everyone is so PC about absolutely everything and there's always people screaming your a (______-phobe)! or (____-ist)! Fill in the blank. Had he not prefaced it like that, you'd probably call him racist. It happens. Alot.

When people say "Black Lives Matter," they are not saying that other lives do not. They are pointing out the very real problem that black people have in interactions with police. One example often given is why are unarmed black people shot and killed when the police manage to arrest the very armed guy who shot up the theater in Denver, who killed people, the very armed guy, who killed folks at an abortion clinic, and allow the very armed group of whites with Cliven Bundy, point their weapons at police. Time and time again, white, armed mass murderers live to to be arrested and stand trial, but unarmed black people are shot. It's a question.

Incarcerated black men still possess the highest rate of perpetuated crimes given any urban setting, or even the surrounding ones(anywhere). And their genocidal tendencies- eg black on black killing themselves off over drugs , guns or strippers, leaves me less than crying for them.

  27. S.D.AUNTIE1:52 PM

Well said why not. Im so sick of the domestic terrorists being treated in the exact opposite manner than people of color. That Clive Bundy situation was a damn joke.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Why Not?2:02 PM

People are not being shot in prison. So, the individuals being shot are not incarcerated black men. In any culture, the dispossessd have a higher rate of crime. In China, Uyghurs, who have light eyes and hair, are viewed as criminals. When I lived in China more than 20 years ago, the Uyghurs were viewed as either "happy, musical people" or "dangerous criminals." I thought, "Hmm, this sounds familiar."

  29. It's all wrong2:12 PM

BLM do not care one fig when a white person gets shot by a cop and they don't care or bother protesting when a black cop shoots a black guy. They only care when it's a WHITE COP shooting a brother. The fact that he was a career criminal and was in the commission of crime while shot does not matter to them because they are racists who just hate white people. They riot and protest before they even know the facts.

    I doubt he cares

MLK would not stand the separation of other races. I grew up in Reggie Whites church. I'm half Jew, so I understand they're angry. I get angry. But my Jewish father who's last name is almost instinct, his family was killed in Russia. "The Jews are now powerful rich people because we don't use our past as a crutch to be careless with our lives" Those bigots screaming kill white babies. Look up the BLM blocking highways they've blocked ambulances. Some are decant people but I remember in the 60's when KKK was stating "we don't want violence we want them to say over there" think people BLM is another way of division. MLK preached nothing like that.

My gay white friend was told by a newly retired cop. " I don't want fags to serve me"

  36. Shalene9:52 PM

It's actually creating racism. You have to think what pisses black people off? why do some hate whites? They've been accused of something they didn't or won't do. BLM is doing the same. I have a white friend that never hated blacks. criminals like that bully brown from Ferguson getting support from the community brown actually terrorized his own people. There was black witnesses that said brown jumped the cop. Blogger cares more being political correct than right

Thank you so much for this! There are so many wonderful black law enforcement officers that protect and serve, and want nothing to do with all this hate. God Bless them and all they do for us.

  39. So you base your entire experience in this matter on the instance of your friend? Talk about ignorant.

  40. Claire5:37 PM

Not being a bully, but you're missing the point.

BLM is not about saying that no other lives matter. It is simply drawing attention and activism to the fact that African Americans have gotten the shit end of the stick for many years, including violence from police officers.

No one is saying that other lives don't matter. No one is saying that all police officers are racist/bad people, but the reality is that black Americans are disproportionately the victims of violence by law enforcement.

It's like, if you saw a Veteran's Day event would you say to them: "Why only Veteran's? ALL lives matter!" No. That would be rude and disrespectful.

You also have to realize that police (maybe not intentionally, but because of our society's ingrained fear of black men) do not treat black people the same as they do white people, so it's easier for a white person to cooperate. As a white woman, I have absolutely no fear of cops because I know they aren't going to mess with me or shoot me for no reason, so I have no anxiety around them. That is not the case with black people, especially men.

  41. Claire5:38 PM

This is the PERFECT comment to illustrate why Black Lives Matter "matters."

You are upset about being called an "-ist" on the Internet.

Black people are actually afraid of BEING KILLED.

    Do you see the difference?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Claire5:57 PM

BLM does not support killing white babies. The official movement is very non-violent. It also doesn't call for division. It is about raising awareness about an issue that is very important.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Claire6:00 PM

You are very mis-informed. BLM is not about violence, it is about ending violence.

And regardless of whether a person was shot and killed in the commission of a crime, was it a crime that would warrant capital punishment? Nope. That was never the case.

Meanwhile, if we look back at the Colorado mass murder, he was clearly a danger and killed many people and yet SOMEHOW they were able to apprehend him without killing him.

But nobody NOBODY kills more American Blacks, than other American Blacks. FACT.

In Africa, it's exclusively Black-on-Black murder and warring. FACT.

Do you have any nice comfortable slogans for those situations, or do Black live only matter, when they are killed by Whites????

    Answers on a postcard.
