Blind Item #2
This NBC Olympics announcer covering a very high profile event is unraveling to the point where executives are worried if he can stay the course for his events. They have someone on standby because things are that bad.

Dan Hicks, swimming commentator.
Kno, what did he do?
I haven't watched any of the Olympics, but saw on the Internet he made a 'comment' about a Hungarian swimmer?
Maybe, being around physically fit women in Speedos is too much for him.
He said a Hungarian swimmer who broke a world record and won a gold medal owed her success to her husband. "And there's the man responsible...." is the quote.
What about that drunk announcer John Oliver was mocking
I think it's Al Trautwig. He's arguing with people on Twitter and basically being a big mess:

Ooh, based on that link provided by Miss B, I think it's Al, too.
+1
It's better to be right than quick :-)
NBC's coverage is so godawful, that it's probably all of them.
When they kept interrupting the opening ceremonies for ads, people got pretty angry, pretty fast.
Just. Shut. UP. NBC!
Those comments are hysterical!
You're right, the coverage is even worse this year, without the time zone issues of other years, the commentators are awful, the background stories of athletes are lacking, you name it. Is another network ever going to get it?
NBC needs to put Rebecca Lowe over there and be done with the crap from that guy.
Al Trautwig's is out of control on twitter. Hot damn!
Thank you for the link.
I read it and I'm at a loss for words.
Wow. Just..... /sigh..... Wow.
This guy is such a tool.
These idiot NBC'ers are so unprepared, all they can ask any of the athletes is "How does it feel?" It's lame and annoying.
If you've got a spare moment, look at photos of this girl from 4 years ago, and now. Either she's found an incredible training protocol, or she's doping. The transformation is scary.
The first result I got was "Doping questions linger as swimming record falls"
Something to delve into over my lunch minute. Thanks!
Now *I'm* scared! Holy Moses!
There was an issue with another female competitor who is married to a Chicago Bears player. Commentators are shit this time.
Bingo. He was very offensive towards Simone Biles parents and basically all adoptees of this world.

They need to send him back to the Rangers and bring on Leslie Jones. She is hilarious.
