First African American Bachelorette Named BY ABC
ABC has named a black woman as its "Bachelorette" for the first time in the show's history.
Rachel Lindsay will lead the 13th season of "The Bachelor" spinoff. The announcement came Monday night on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
The news is somewhat of a spoiler for fans of the ongoing season of "The Bachelor." The 31-year-old attorney from Texas has yet to be eliminated from the dating show, where she is competing for the affections of Nick Viall. Nevertheless, Lindsay told Kimmel on Monday that she's ready to find love and a husband. She also encouraged the audience to send any interested suitors to apply for the show.
"I'm happy to represent myself as a black woman in front of America and I'm happy for America to rally behind me and see what it's like for me to be on this journey to find love. Honestly, it's not going to be that different from any other season of 'The Bachelorette.'"
zzzZZZzzzZZZzzZZZ so over all this race crap.
ReplyDeleteLiberals are obsessed with race, skin colour, ethnicity, gender, sexuality and whatnot. And they can't stop race baiting.
Wow a black bachelorette, what an incredible achievement 'for all black women out there' (wipes away tear), give her a medal, an award & then let me finish snoozing... zzzZZZzzZZzzZZZz
I find it hilarious that all of a sudden, after the explosion in popularity over that show, "Unreal," all the "bachelor/ette" shows are now bringing in African-Americans and LBGT's to show their "diversity."
ReplyDeleteIt's a joke. They should have included EVERYONE from the very get-go, not NOW. Little too late networks.
I'm so sick of politics, ass-kissing, fake diversity, pedophiles/rapists of Hollywood getting awards and just all around bull shit from everyone.
Enough w/ the creating issues just to say you are on a side and feel important..
UNGH> such a fucked up world.
marlo that show is so painfullly bad demoralizing I would think the only thing Ro be proud of or accomplished is if she turned it down-that would have been stellar!
ReplyDeleteand if the ratings aren't stellar ABC gets to justify never doing another minority again. Personally, feels like she is just going to be used as a scapegoat for the network.
ReplyDelete@AppleTartin hope not but possible... show is abysmal and the network brass sucks
ReplyDeleteDon't care; don't watch.
ReplyDeleteWhatever unreal does bachelor will do 9 months later
ReplyDeleteWhat will be interesting will be the makeup of the pool. Any guesses about how long it will take for a racial confrontation amongst the candidates. I'm sure ABC is hoping for some.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nasty, ugly piece of work you are. You always make this shit about politics and you do not even live in America. How about just fucking the hell off Marlo.
ReplyDeleteWho watches that $hit anyway?
ReplyDelete"Reality Steve" (who also spoiled the announcement) has the most astute commentary: Fleiss and Co. are acting like they just made a historic social advance, but it was they who went 14 yr, and 30+ shows without casting a black lead.
ReplyDeleteLester Holt taking over World News Tonight was significant and meaningful. This really is not, although Rachel is certainly bright, cute and appealing. The franchise is simply tacky, classless and junky.
ReplyDeletePersonally I wish it had been a black man and 30 white woman, just to watch the alt right cretins lose their minds.
ReplyDeleteThe Bachelor/Bachelorette is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine, although I can fully acknowledge that it is a completely ridiculous show. Rachel is incredibly smart, super cute, and has a great personality. That alone should have been enough to make the the Bachelorette. I think the network would have done better to just make the announcement without acknowledging race at all, because by doing so, they're giving themselves a pat on the back for an issue that, frankly, they all should have been embarrassed about.
ReplyDeleteYou know nothing whatsoever about "liberals", do you?
ReplyDeleteNow we have the reeking of five days in a casino, smoking, cocaine, unshaved, unwashed Bannon trolling as Marlo.
ReplyDeleteGotcha!
Will they have a number of black contestant
ReplyDeletethan? Will they even be able to find enough contestant to do 50% 50% race racio?
* I think its "representing America" with these kind of numbers. Through in a few other minorities too, like in real life.
* I think it will be very highly unrealistic to make her choose from a pool of white males only. Unless she spesifically declared that's her taste. Which of course, she never will do.
