Blind Item #3

All the answers this week to the blind items are people who have never previously been an answer to a blind in the past decade.

Coachella

A woman this past weekend says she was sexually assaulted. She thinks it is this one named DJ/producer. The problem is there is confusion about who the one named DJ/producer is and whether this was a guy who she believed to be him or actually him. Her story is 100% believable, but so far she has not gone to the police because of the whole conflicting identity thing.

  2. So he assaulted her while she was too drunk to remember who?

I read it as maybe someone else passing themselves off as him.

Believe it or not, it is possible to be raped without knowing who exactly did it. It doesn't mean she was drunk.

I wish I could stop reading the damned disclaimer at the top of every blind. Every. Time.

Getting raped. In a tent. By Skrillex...

    Does it get any worse?

She has not gone to the police because of the conflicting identity? If you are raped, first tell the police, then they will investigate who the criminal is, hopefully. It is easier for them if you give them the choices, but tell them anyway.

She's probably embarrassed. If she accuses Skrillex of rape and its not him (for example he's got a rock solid alibi) she's going to be doubly embarrassed. Not only was she sexually assaulted, but she fell for a fake celebrity and falsely accused the real one.

She should report it anyway. The longer this waits, the more the evidence trail gets fuzzy and the less likely the cops will ever be able to hold anyone responsible. It may already be too late because DNA evidence is probably gone now. If she can't positively identify her assailant, that's going to make it WAY harder to convict him.

The police will undoubtedly be discreet here. They won't tell anybody about any investigation until (/unless) criminal charges are filed nobody need know. Whomever the perpetrator is its possible he's done this to other women, and its even possible the cops are aware of other accusations.

  11. what is it with scientology and raping celebrity DJ's?

... if it is Skrillex he'd be in good company with his fellow scientologist DJ Danny Masterson who was happy to call himself DJ Donkey Punch and DJ Donkey Pizzle [really] and who currently has at least 3 women accusing him of rape... also you only have to read that interview Skrillex gave last year where he comes across like an arrogant cock!

Marshmello. Wears a marshmellow mask on his head so you wouldn't technically know who he is.

Yes. Getting raped, in a tent, by a Skrillex imposter.

Appearing arrogant in an interview doesn't mean you're a rapist. If we accept this blind as true, this woman believes she was sexually assaulted by someone who looks like Skrillex. Maybe it was him, maybe it wasn't. If even the victim isn't sure, I think its a bit premature to assume he's a rapist, let alone compare him to someone accused publically of multiple counts of rape. BTW, there is one religious group associated with increased incidence of rape. . .whatever its other flaws, its not Scientology..

The blind also doesn't specify ANY of the details of this alleged assault, other than suggesting that the victim's story is credible.

As a legal term, "sexual assault" just means unwanted/illegal sexual contact. That certainly includes rape, but it also includes any unwanted non-penetrative sexual contact including groping/fondling. So this blind could be true. . .and it wasn't rape.

Its often a contributing factor, but of course its possible to be sexually assaulted without being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

One of the problems with this blind is it doesn't specify ANY details about this alleged assault. Where did it happen? How did the two meet? Where drugs or alcohol involved? Was anyone else present before, during, or after? What was the nature of this assault? Did this person (mis)represent themselves as the DJ/producer or was that an assumption on the victims part? Etc.
