  5. I'm old school.
I like the old, old animated shorts.
The ones they used to show in movie theaters before the featured film. The ones before they were on TV all the time.
Bugs Bunny, Merry Melodies, Loonie Tunes, etc,

Dumbo. But then I've always had a thing for elephant ears. While all the other girls in my hometown went to the county fair hoping one of the football players would ask them to ride the Gerri's wheel, then hope they'd get felt up, I always waited in line for a dozen fresh hot elephant ears. At least I never had to go home to Ma and Pa Crowley explaining how I got knocked up and had to drop out of high school like so many of my classmates. Those elephant ears helped make me the successful career girl I am today!

I like good animation. VERY hard to come by these days... just a sea of garbage, from an artistic standpoint. Most early animation is good. Silly Symphonies. Dumbo (except for the crows), e.g., the rain scene. Last year's The Red Turtle was beautifully drawn.

    Coraline. It's 3D stop-motion, though. So none.

I have fond memories of dropping acid and going to see Fantasia at the old Ziegfeld Theater in New York many years ago.

Kubo and the Two Strings. It came out last year and should have won the Oscar. Incredibly sad but funny and charming too.

Since Fantasia (!) has already gotten so many unexpected votes, I will go with my other favorite, Disney's Robin Hood.

"Hiss! You're never around when I need you!"

  27. Any of the Miyazaki films. Spirited Away has a special place in my heart though bc it was the first one I saw. I wish more kids these days were exposed to Japanese animation...they're so superior to American cartoons

Never thought about them that way but if I had to pick, I go with Finding Nemo. I recently saw Anomalisa; a little sad.
