Oh, how it must suck to find someone new to sing the high notes. Our favorite drug addicted singer is losing one of the best imitators around because the imitator got her own well deserved deal.
I don't know who this is but reading her Wikipedia tells me she doesn't fit this blind. And even if she does most of these female pop singers are interchangeable and I can't tell one from another for the most part.
And pretty soon you'll be able to Google all your prepared foods through Amazon and it will cost less than Blue Apron and all the other prepared food sites.
I love Julia Michaels' song "Issues" so, so much - it came out in January, but I don't listen to the radio very much, so don't know how much airplay it got. Her voice is way better than Selena's (or whoever they're passing off as Selena), so that's the part that gives me pause with this blind.
She was a working songwriter who wrote many of these pop girls' hits. She also sang her own demos. It is very possible she could blend her voice to imitate certain singers, it's a common practice for pop singers with weaker voices... plus a lot of trained singers can imitate others. Hell a bunch of them do it in Fallon for laughs.
Julia to me sounds more like Hailee, whom she's also written for. She's gotten a ton of song writing credits for most of the female singers out there.
So Julia decided to do her own singing career, like Katy's former songwriter Bonnie wants to sing her own stuff now. Wonder if this going to be a trend now that songwriters get practically nothing for streaming compared to radio.
At least I'm keeping google busy.

ReplyDeleteIt is gettng airplay. Everytime it comes on, I ask my daughter who sings it because I can't remember and she rolls her eyes and tells me.
ReplyDeleteSelena can't sing so it can't be too hard to find someone else who also can't.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you think she doesn't fit? It's pretty commonly assumed that she did much of the singing on Bad Liar, among other SG songs.
ReplyDeleteBecause her wiki says one of her influences is Demi Lovato among others. Zero about Selena. We know what happens when we assume.😋
ReplyDeleteJulia Michaels sounds nothing like Selena though..
ReplyDeleteJulia's voice is pretty unique/easy to spot.
Wait a minute, Selena Gomez is a singer?

Julia sounds like a lot of generic singers today. There is nothing memorable about her voice.
