A biopic on the life of this foreign born deceased A list legend has hit some stumbling blocks because the writers included everything in her life and death. When the death threats started coming though, the decision was made to sanitize everything to the point where it looks like a Disney movie.

ReplyDeleteWhich reminds me John Singleton better be careful when outside due to Snowfall. The drug dealers may have already killed someone who knew too much about crack and SoCal. Or was that the CIA that did that?
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to really understand how harmful people like Rivera were to mexican music. She was awful. Bad voice, bad attitude.

ReplyDeleteHeavens, I did not remember this woman (I never knew her until I read about her death, and she is still an unknown here and probably will forever), so I googled her. It seems that her first husband called trinidad (a female name in Spanish, btw), sexually abused two of their daughters. They do not need her drug links to make a film far from Disney-y.

ReplyDeleteNYC is not smalltown USA. The first I heard of her was when she died in a plane crash. Every genre and every profession has its superstars, which are many times unknown to people who don't follow said genres or work in said professions.
