Sean connery
Ian MacKellan?
Michael Caine
Anthony Hopkins
The use of the word "cranky" here indicates this is Sean Connery.
ooooh, it makes me so sad to think that sean connery, clearly very frail, might have his heart set on one last part in a bond movie only to be denied. that's just wrong and a missed opportunity for the filmmakers. make it work guys!!!!!!
I miss being able to like comments (but I don't miss the other garbage that came along with the former format) so: @justsayin I 'like' your comment
I saw a picture of Sean the other day, no way could he stand the stress of filming imo.
I'd hate to thing this could be Patrick Stewart and the X-Men franchise
Connery has not acted in 14 years (he has two voice credits, but no actual filmed role since 2003). And he has not filmed a Bond role in nearly 35 years. Unless they are referring to the planned new Indiana Jones movie?
Shatner?
♥
Yes. He looks very frail. I doubt he can remember lines or read a cue card
What about Shatner? Canadian-born.
Sean Connery. Too old, and frail. I saw the pictures as well. He had his time, he should enjoy his twilight years like the OG BOSS he is. - At the very least, he could be sitting down drinking a martini in the background. That would be a nice nod to wrap up his Bond role. I'm sorry to say. Great actor, love his voice.
I think Moose got it. Sean Connery is way too old and announced his retirement some time ago. Shatner only has one franchise to his name and he hasn't been a part of it, so that leaves Patrick Stewart who has had a few nasty public spats and is actually part of a relevant franchise.
I suppose it could be Ian McKellan, but he's never come across as cranky (to me anyway : ) Same goes for Michael Caine - old, but not cranky.
Also, Hopkins doesn't have a franchise that's been going longer than a decade and I love Bliss Boo's idea of having 'Bond' sat in the background sipping a martini,... esp if Bond is going to sell out and start promoting Heineken. I'm not even a Bond fan, but that does seem like a nice wrap up.
Star Trek is 50 years old so do not think Shatner is looking to be on the new franchise as the op said a decade or more. Stewart x men he and McKellan both said on Graham Norton show they were not interested in anymore coz wolverine has hung up his teeth.
Stewart also has a connection to the Star Trek franchise as well, so the franchise at issue could be either one, both of which continue filming.
i'd bet the farm that this is sean connery. the blind says he's been "working his cranky tail off" to prepare. out of the blue, we're seeing pap shots of connery out walking/exercising, and looking pretty darned cranky to boot.
