Blind Item #10

Her A list television ex on a long running network show got her hooked on coke. He didn't care. He doesn't care. He makes his millions per year. When they split, she was a mess and from the looks of her this week is still a mess. She has not been able to work that past couple of years. I heard she landed a role on the smallest of indie films. If they saw her like she was this week, she will lose that. I feel bad for her because she is incredibly nice, but just can't shake the coke.

    2. Pablo isn’t skinny enough to be a coke head and she has never been in an Indie film. Last month she looked great anyways. Weatherly’s estranged wife is liable to be a cokehead. Scarily anorexic.

  5. Count, I have a theory on that. Not exactly PC, but in my experience it has held to be true for the most part. I think the likelihood of developing a bona fide addiction is a function of drug availability. Most dudes, except for wealthy ones, ultimately have their access limited due to economics, so serious coke benders are fewer and further between. Girls, pretty ones especially, have no trouble getting their hands or noses as it were on blow because, I mean, show me a straight using guy who doesn't want to do blow with a hot girl. I think women are also more likely to be able to move higher up the food chain (ie, become 'friends' with a dealer and get it for cheaper) for the same reason whereas a cokehead dude will always remain an end user.

    1. Joe: agree on coke4cooter.

it comes back to bite emn though. Dealers on the streets dont give pretty girls free drugs or punch em in the face, they throw a brick through the window of their car. I know one cokey hottie w/ a scar on her chin from it and another who wrecked her hubby's work Benz when the brick went through the windown hit her in the head and knocked her out.

    2. That and coke kills your appetite, so for those in a business where they need to look like a stick to get work, it's probably a great diet aid.

  6. You are right about that, JP Blow. A pretty girl can always get high. Mind you, some don't want to pay that price, and then they wind up broke. Melissa Gilbert comes to mind.

  7. Nobody can get you hooked on coke. Your body and mind are your own responsibility.

  8. Gordon, the general restraint shown by women despite this known truth is another example of where their strength far outpaces men's. If the roles were reversed, free drugs and possibly sex for dudes, it would be insane.

  9. JP, it is insane, on the gay side. Or so I have been told by Folks Who Were There. Pretty Boys....

As for the restraint by women, yeah. I think it's especially hard on young women trying to stay clean, assuming you follow the NA rule that booze = drugs. If you're a 21 yr old gal, and you can't go out with the girls on Saturday night because all the girls are gonna drink and there's just too much temptation...Well, that's going to suck because you're going to sit home alone. Now put yourself in a situation like an industry event, and half the people there have a baggie of blow in their pocket, and people like to introduce themselves by slipping you some. Belushi never had a chance in that world. I'm amazed every young gal in Hollywood isn't being treated for a hole in her septum.

From what my gfs it's not as bad as described for most. They say you change playmates & playgrounds.
I'd rather have sober anyway. Not too hard to figure out why.

  10. Aww man. I feel for the girl. Does anyone know what Johnny Galecki is really like? Has anyone ever met him? I never really hear anything about him but I get a vibe that he's not that nice of a guy. Again, just a vibe and never really heard much about him off-set.

  11. Cocaine is a drug for women and gay men. Negroes seem to like it a lot too. . Normal men don't need it and don't even seem to like it that much.

    Why is this?

Well, what does cocaine do for you after all?

It make you feel important, like a star (everybody knows that you are!). Thus for people that naturally feel as low as a piece of dog crap it's a very pleasant change, no?

Most men are pretty happy within themselves, they get a sense of self worth from their work etc. so they don't need some chemical that makes them feel like they're in a Busby Berkely musical. haha..I'm trying to be funny here.

Seriously, men buy cocaine to get women into bed.

When men get addicted to cocaine their thoughts (and deeds) turn to murder.

Most men want to relax. A beer and a joint will do that just fine.

    3. Fufu: there is a difference between drug USER and drug ABUSER. You described someone who abuses meth. Someone who just uses it is up for a day, horny and "in the zone".

  12. Here's a question, if anyone cares to enlighten me: Yachting. I get it, it explains a lot. Now...is this more common now than it was, say, in the 1970s? I get the impression here that there's a hell of a lot of gals (and probably guys also) who are known for some stuff, but that are padding the ol' retirement with some rub and tickle. So is it more common now?

  15. @Gordon, I think there are many more famous people than there were in the 70s, because of the internet and reality TV. so the whole yachting thing exploded. I guess even when you're worth million or billions, screwing anyone famous is a coup, or, so they can brag about how cheap the "famous" can be had.

  16. 'Twas ever thus. We just have the luxury of the Internet now so we can say whatever we feel like saying where before information was tightly locked down and we could feel good knowing that J. Edgar Hoover was watching over the nation and keeping us safe in our homes from dastardly criminals and not dressing up like a woman to do dirty things with Tolson.

King Farouk was cruising around in his yot with an army of mistresses way back when. Who knows which celebrities he paid to minister to his famous micropenis?

  21. There is some truth to the broad generalizations Cadmium made. Gays are 10 times more likely to use cocaine than the general population. People use cocaine to feel good and to get that rush of confidence. Obviously this is to overcome the opposite feelings; gay people are much more likely to suffer depression than straights. I'm gay and I don't see what's wrong about acknowledging the truth here.

I've read women aren't more likely to use cocaine but they're much more likely to get addicted once they start. Female rats are more likely to get hooked during certain phases of their menstrual cycle when estrogen compounds are more concentrated. And female rats get addicted much faster than males when allowed to self-administer cocaine. Women are more sensitive to cocaine because of their hormones. Is that something we're not supposed to say?

African Americans are by far the most addicted ethnicity in the US. Obviously crack cocaine is the bigger problem because it's cheap.

But, it's not like white men don't use drugs. There are a lot of meth heads and opioid abusers that are white guys.

    1. Statistically, more white men use drugs. They don't get busted because most white men don't live in low-income areas where cops frisk everyone walking down the street.
One in 3 black men ages 18-30 will do time in jail. Why? See above. Black men commit less crime & use less drugs but get stopped & frisked about 10-20x more.
And drug abuse is not just about escapism or feeling good, there are quite a few factors that are present in ppl who abuse/get addicted to cocaine, meth, etc.

  22. Mike,

It's not polite to say such things. Differences in behavior, intelligence, ethics, or anything else are Social Constructs caused by (straight) white male privilege, except when those differences signal an advantage for any group that are not (straight) white privileged males. If you really have some time to kill, ask someone older about how gayness started as born that way, then became sexual preference, then Born That Way You Hater and now is a social construct, except when it isn't. I probably missed a couple of stages, because I wasn't paying that much attention.

It's okay for you to say some stuff, because you have gay privilege, but not other stuff, because you have male privilege, or white privilege, or something.

  23. I think that's solid reasoning for why women get more addicted to a lot of drugs, booze included. I have to wonder too, if women drugging with men (presumably trying to get it on) are also consuming equal amounts to their partner. Or more if he's sadly taking advantage of her. I think a lot of women don't consider their weight or gender when partying or they try and keep up with the men for an act.

    ReplyDelete
  24. @Gordon Thank you for your voice of reason!

    ReplyDelete
  25. @Cadmium77 I beg to differ. Between tech, finance, and the restaurant industry, I've known more straight men to do coke than any other group of people.
The gay men I knew actually preferred the Molly/ecstasy to coke.
It's definitely a straight man drug as much as anything else...I mean... just look at every dude that still sadly dreams of being a DJ at age 40 or is one successfully... they're all coked up. All the damn time.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Uh Mike, exactly what is it Black Americans are so addicted to because it certainly isn't being 13 times more likely to be arrested and jailed for buying, selling or using the same drugs that White people use.

And you'll find the crack epidemic on the other side of your time machine's dial, which was more a war on drugs i.e. a war on those caught buying, selling and using. Heroin and the other opioids are the true victims of an epidemic as no war has been declared against the vast majority of the white community doing them we've been told we should feel so sorry for.

  28. Thank you Mike.I spoke bluntly but I spoke without malice within my own experiences which were mainly during the 70's and 80's, the disco era. The human terrain of the night life culture is vastly transformed now from what it was then, as Babsbunny has pointed out. Time has passed me by which is nice. More relaxing, less angst.

  30. yvie and Cadmium, thanks. I had wondered about people like Emily Ratajkowski; famous for dancing with her mosquito bites out. Drop her into yachting, and now it all makes sense. Plus, it's not like 1972 when we watched the Rhona Barrett minute on the local news. Celeb gossip is 24/7 and a thousand outlets. They can't all write about Blac Chyna all the time.
