Times Up
There is a March scheduled I think
Grammy's as the event of course
Grammy's wear a white rose for Times Up support
cause the Pro Bowl sure as hell isn't a big event
Grammys need a times up protest? Women singers aint paid comparable to men?
Idk if this is what's meant by "sponsorship", but the campaign was created by "Voices in Entertainment", aka PR/execs from Roc Nation (Jay Z) and Geffen/ Interscope. Lololololololol talk
bout sincerity.
@Sara, I think Enty was talking about the Viceland branded merch for TimesUp
Jay Z and Geffen promoting an event designed to support victims is about as funny as my Thursday will get.
I know Rose is getting called out on Twitter, for omitting POC. is she part of something this weeekend? A women's march sounds about right
I just threw up in my mouth
I think problem is songwriting royalties. Many female songwriter s are at best "co-writers". Producers make them sign over ownership of songs.
A lot of women had to trade we, for tracks,or to get their records released. Rita Ora got a big payout from JayZ's label, when she stopped putting out, they stopped putting her music out. She was finally paid off.
We? Autocorrect, I said, trade sex for tracks.
@Count Times Up is more about having to fuck for fame, I think. That applies to the music industry as well.
So now Jay-z and Geffen are feminists? Rotfl! That's as believable as David Duke becoming head of the NAACP.
Let’s see here ... a protest movement is launched in the entertainment business, which in addition to sexual assault of men, women and children employs some of the crookedest, sleaziest business practices in the entire freaking galaxy, but we’re supposed to be shocked (shocked!) that the movement has aspects of hypocrisy and grossness?
I really liked what Rose was doing in the beginning but now I side-eye her a little bit.
👍
Until Rose apologizes for stating that it's okay to work for a really nice pedophile because pedophilia is "not really my business," she won't even get a side-eye from me. (Yeah, I know, she won't shed a tear.)
POC are an abstract concept to most of these White celebs. Nice to support on social media, but not to hang out with or befriend. Sort of mirrors the larger world. People don't really know each other outside of work or retweeting each other. So of course women of color are left out of some of these events.
Tetsujin +1. Thank you
