Rachael Weiscz ?
Have heard she utilized the couch
I'll go with Kate Winslet.
Kristin Scott Thomas for the second actress
That’s a good guess- her making French films... but she also lived there quite a bit(or had a home), so I thought that was why... if her maybe Emma Thompson as #1– they are 57,58 both of them
I don't think Kate Beckinsdale has an Oscar nom/win
Plus, Kate is on record as having refused Harvey Weinstein's advances. She doesn't seem the type to sacrifice her principles for her career.
Hm. I kind of don't want the first actress to be any of the British actresses of a certain age that I can think of. But if it's KST for the second one, then possibly Tilda Swinton? She's pretty sexually free (has a longstanding open relationship). But I'd hope she wouldn't judge the choice not to casting couch in this way. Blech. My other thought was maybe Helen Mirren.
I think it might be Emma Thompson and Kristin Scott Thomas (whose career has again stalled as she has aged but is a phenomenal actress). I hope it's not Emma Thompson.
Aye, more principled to marry someone who will direct most of your movies
I’d be surprised at Mirren given how outspoken she’s been about misogyny and lechery since the start of her career 50 years ago.
Tilda is a free sexual spirit - she apparently once had a relationship with pathetic hapless fat right idiot Richard Barnbrook
Far, not fat
Who do you mean? KST is divorced from a French gynecologist, so I assume not her. Anyhoo. Here is KST on why she's done a lot of French movies:
"Well, it's a bit of a no-brainer, really, because there are such great roles that I keep getting offered in France. If I were offered them in England, I'd work in England more, but I'm not. French cinema seems to make these fantastic stories about women in my age group, women that are dynamic, and are going forward and carrying on being alive and not just sitting back watching everything go on around them. They're stories about women, not about what those women once were. The (roles) I'm offered are better. I'm sure American cinema has some really great roles for women my age, but they don't come my way. It might have something to do with refusing to go to Los Angeles - it might have something to do with lurking in Paris."

Emma Thompson, again, married the bloke who directed most of her early films. She was *the* acting star here in the UK during the 80s having risen up through Footlights with Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, and wrote a lot of her own material. She also comes from an acting family - Phyllida Law, Sophie Thompson etc
OK, so probably not Helen Mirren: https://www.thedailybeast.com/gwyneth-paltrow-charlize-theron-and-more-casting-couch-horror-stories
"In 2007 Helen Mirren lashed out at director Michael Winner for an encounter that occurred in 1964. During a TV interview with Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan, Mirren recalled how Winner made her flaunt her body and turn around for him. “I was mortified and incredibly angry,” the Academy Award-winning actress said. “I thought it was insulting and sexist, and I don’t think any actress should be treated like that—like a piece of meat—at all.” "
"Most of you know the latter actress but not the same way you know the other actress."
This part has me confused, not that hard to do this early in the year. Like a porn actress or does animation/voice work? Theater instead of movies?
lol
Emma thompson is a magnificent actress and was married to Kenneth Branagh. Even IF she had used the couch at any point, one can't say she has a career *because* of it. She has a career because she's great. Just saying.
A little pussy is a small price to pay for fame and fortune.
Catherine Zeta Jones for A list who appreciated casting couch.
As opposed to a far left idiot? Careful knocking over that straw man. Or lumping groups together and making gross generalizations. As they say in the army, tracers point both ways. Jackass.
Not KST,she's been living in France since she was 19, before she became an actress.
Charlotte Rampling refused to sleep for parts and then moved to France to get roles.
If the blind is referring to younger actresses, I don't think it's Winslet as she has always been against the casting couch.
#1 Kate Winslet.
#2 Emma Thompson.
Everyone knows Kate. Emma is lesser known, although arguably a better actress.
Emma has 2 Oscars and lives in England.
Both Oscar nominees though.
#1 - Felicity Jones
#2 - Gemma Arterton (moving into French cinema)
The female Harveys are happy to screw over other women for a part.
#1 Catherine Zeta Jones?
#2 I get an inkling he means the other "acting" profession; aka adult industry. In which case....shot (ahem) in the dark (ahem again) but Taylor Wayne?
Does anyone remember that Helen Mirren and a young Liam Neeson were an item for quite some time? I think that is so endearing.
Emma Thompson was a member of the Royal Shakespeare company with Brannagh, that's how they met, - She had chops and brilliance and a career before the movies. She and "Gildroy" came into the movie industry together, so she didn't need the casting couch. Yes, he directed her, but only because hollywood insisted they were a package deal- at least on the shakespeare movies of the 1990s.
She then began to be much more in demand and successful in Hollywood, he shagged Bellatrix LaStrange and their marriage was over.
sigh. this was really more of a response to the people claiming Emma Thompson got her roles on the back of Branagh. I hate that guy for cheating on her.
Helena Bonham Carter? My first thought was Kate Winslet though.
Rampling for No2; maybe one of the Redgraves for No1? Charlotte was in Georgy Girl with Lynn (and of course, she’s no longer with us), but Vanessa always had the more “adventurous” roles...and there was the being married to Tony Richardson thing 😳
Wonder if Emma pulled from that cheating experience to do that amazing scene in Love Actually...not that she needs that nail a scene! Love her and shame on KB...he looks so different, but good in Murder on the Orient Express!
Obviously: Maggie Smith and Judi Dench.
