Blind Item #10

This A list singer/wannabe actor said he would walk out of a talk show appearance if asked any controversial questions, so the talk show host folded and just tossed up softballs.

  1. Fallon's dumb ass for the talk show host.

  2. At least they ditched the Prince hologram.

  3. As if Fallon would ever NOT go softball. ESPECIALLY with his bestie JT.

    1. Exactly! Even as JT tried to justify his decision to use Prince against others' wishes, Jimmy would have been happy enough to avoid the subject altogether. My observation was that Questlove was the one put in the most awkward position by having to give JT his "Black Musician Seal of Approval".

  5. Isn't that every talk show host nowadays?

  6. I agree Timberlake on Fallon, but no chance there was the least bit of concern Fallon would ask anything to put JT in a bad light. And Fallon sure as hell isn't ballsy enough to ever ask anything other than a pre-written question and the occasional softball adlib. I always liked him and loved when he took over The Tonight Show, but his friendliest guy persona got old and he clearly became a shill for whatever celeb doing PR.

  7. Timberlake and Fallon are besties.

  8. All Fallon does is throw softballs. Keanu Reeves was on his show wearing a damn wedding ring that he kept waving around and Fallon ignored it.

  9. Fallon was better before he got where he is. The other Jimmy, too, who is even more insufferable.

  10. @Brayson87, no kidding. It's hard enough to find investigative journalists who ask tough questions these days, but talk show hosts? That's not what they're there for.

  12. I caught clips of his halftime show on morning news and it was even worse than I remember. I must have blocked out the initial lazer light litany that kicked off 'extravaganza' lol. extremely cringe inducing. he needed NSYNC for the save and that about says it all.

  13. @Cail, that's for sure. They cleaned out journalists a while ago. Most of the ones that stuck around either do as they are told, kiss the bosses' butts or work for peanuts. I knew a few who had to jump into other professions.

  14. I disagree about Kimmel, did you see him rip into Leno about Conan?

Kimmel had done an entire show dressed as Jay to highlight the issue Conan was having at NBC with the Tonight Show. Leno called him after and was a good sport about it, and asked Kimmel to appear on Leno's show the next day to talk about it. Jimmy agreed. When Kimmel saw the questions he realised Leno was just trying to do damage control. He didn't like being used like that and torpedoed the interview. It was savage and amazing to watch.

  15. A simple synopsis of Timberlakes douchey behavior can be found at RomeoSantos@ByeAshy on twitter. He's truly a nasty human being. And all his hideous backstabbing behavior isn't even included in that thread. An expose of the true Justin timberdouche is wayyyyyy overdue.

    1. I was never an N*Sync fan (not even a BSB fan). I was into those unassuming Irish boyband (a little into British boybands/girlbands like Take That and the Spice Girls).

I hope I never hear about any back-stabbing behaviour from anyone from my baby years... It would crush me.

  16. I agree with above posters. Fallon has done nothing but throw softballs. That's his thing. He wants to be everybody's 'buddy'.

Like Leno said, just make me laugh before I fall asleep. Job well done.

  18. Timberlake was obviously nervous and went out of his way to suck up to Questlove. Quest was leading the Janet Jackson social media campaign.

  19. Fallon is pathetic. It shouldn't be hard to be a late night presenter, but he manages to come off as obsequious and insincere with alarming regularity. The Trump thing, then "going hard" on mocking him months after everyone else got bored of it, the paid placement for things like Nintendo, where it's obviously just an ad, the fake laugh with every guest, his inability to string banal questions together to make it seem like conversation, the list goes on and on. He's just dreck. I'm thrilled for The Roots getting that TV money, but that's it.
