Blind Item #9

The story this weekend is that the collapse of this team last year in the playoffs where they were supposed to advance at least to the final four is because their A++ list star player started drinking sizzurp again after a long absence. He just wasn't the same and the team made a very early exit in uninspiring fashion.

  3. doesn't final four imply basketball? college at that. the one sport I quit watching 20 years ago. although if i did make a returnI would watch college before NBA

"sizzurp" lol how does one even know how to spell that? furthermore what a lameass choice to get high on

    1. No A++ stars in college basketball. I was thinking this blind could be the Steelers. But that would have to be Roethlisburger. Bell and Brown played well. Ben struggled.

  4. I think it more or less implies NBA. You need playoffs that come down to a final four, meaning there's a round or two before. And you need teams where one superstar makes an oversized impact on team performance. That's pretty much the NBA.

Given the story, the Rockets fit, and Harden is the likely bet.

  5. I assumed this was about Syracuse Orange.
But any player from Houston should know better than to drink that shit. *Should*

  6. A++ is a bit high, no? That's MJ and Oprah level

    1. It should at least imply that even non-sports fans have heard of him. Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Shaq type name recognition.

  9. I assume A++ in their particular field. So a Michael Jordan (more +'s really) or someone like Curry or Lebron. I assumed this is college basketball because of "final four", but I honestly watch little college sports or NBA, except some finals, so I'm not the right person tp guess sports blinds. If college, then A++ probably is a NBA first round pick player.

  10. Good point, the drank angle makes the Rockets even more likely.

  11. Harden did have a shockingly bad final game when they were eliminated by the Spurs.

  12. Chris Paul or Blake Griffin of the Clippers.

  13. Say no to sizzurp.

  14. Final Four is definitely a college basketball thing but does enty mean THE Final Four or just, like, a final four? The latter can apply to pretty much anything. I like the Lonzo Ball guess though

  15. James Harden - was Forbes 30 under 30 I’m the past which impacts his A++ rating I think

Gotta be Lebron. A++ is like Oprah/Clinton level recognition, and Golden State won 4-1, although one could argue that GS was just THAT much better than the Cavs when they added Durant.

    1. Plausible since I, a total non sports fan, actually know who he is. That’s gotta count for A++

  17. Final Four only means NCAA hoops to anyone who even remotely follows sports.

  18. Whoops Lonzo isn't A+ lol. Few athletes are though. Lebron qualifies but to say that his underdog Cavs "collapsed" against perhaps the greatest team ever assembled is stretching.

  19. UCLA and the Ball kid. This blind is obviously about college basketball. No other arena in sports is referred to as final 4.

I know several people have thought it was the NBA, but there is no final 4 in the NBA, only the playoffs and the championship game.
I apologize if I sound condescending, not trying too just really tired.

  22. SON OF A BITCH!

Just spent 30 min pecking my IPad regarding the Houston Rockets playoff run, UCLA's NCAA tournament bracket, and how ENTY does not know the difference between the NBA Playoffs and the NCAA "March Madness" Tournament (who's semifinals is known as "The Final Four").

Then, poof, page refresh, lose everything.

Long story short, answer is Houston Rocket James Harden when 2 seed Rockets lost to the 4 seed San Antoino Spurs in the 2nd round of the NBA playoffs. Harden absolutely gave up in the 1st quarter of the series deciding gave 6.
Never seen anything like it. We all thought he intentially threw the game.

Wasn't UCLA/Ball as the 3 seed Bruins lost to the 2 seed Kentucky Wildcats in the 3rd round of the NCAA Tournment.
Kentucky was a slight Vegas fave going into that game AND went on to lose in the next (sweet 16) round to eventual national champion North Carolina TarHeels.
No way UCLA was ever picked to upset #1 seed North Carolina to advance to the Final Four.

  23. Not an NFL star....I'm a long time football fan (Go Pack Go!) and we never use the Final Four term for our playoffs.

    1. Obviously the term isn’t used in pro football, but there is no such thing as an A++ lister in college basketball. Not remotely close.

  24. I think the use of "Final Four" is meant to throw us off.

This is NBA All Star Weekend so "the story this weekend" relates to that.

It can't be the Cavs because they made the Final vs Golden State.

I didn't know that sizzurp crap is a thing in Houston. That leads me to think this is Harden.

My second choice would be Blake Griffin but I think he's gotten himself involved with the Trashians and that is the source of his issues. He should look at what happened to Lamar Odom.

  25. It's actually Tim Tebow.

"Final Four" is a new thing in minor league baseball.

  26. OG Enty has a relationship with Texas (either from there or went to school there). He also knows both college and pro sports, which is obvious from his Twitter feed. The question is whether this is a blind from OG Enty or one of the enterns, or the new Enty.

I am pretty sure that this is the fourth iteration of Enty to run this web site, 1 and 2 being OG Enty and Jax, 3 being the Enty with the format that sucked, and now 4, with all the 4chan and CT blinds.

  28. There is a "final four" in the NBA playoffs: the teams that make it to the Eastern and Western championship series. No one usually calls it that, but they are the "final four" teams. No one calls the NCAA tournament the "playoffs" either, so that wouldn't fit that.

I wasn't following the NBA playoffs last year, but even I heard on general sports radio about how shockingly bad Harden's performance was. Theories were that he had to be sick, stoned, or throwing it.

  29. FEAR THE BEARD!!! We loved James Harden in OKC
Sizzrup? What is the Athlete like 17 years old? I thought it was popular with under 21 fans
