Funny how many of the commenters in the blind for this were desperate to make this somehow about Trump.
ReplyDeleteYou would think the proceeds of the Elvis estate would leave her flush for life. Does the estate just not generate that much income, or are her expenses that sky high?

Apparently, she makes $100k/month from his estate, but that's it. Also, apparently, she's went through everything else, or her hubbie has. But, Priscilla, I think, runs a trust or something that generates $$$ that I believe she lives off of. Not sure though, but Lisa is broke and lives with daughter.

I thought she's was hiding money due to the divorce settlement. You dont want to increase your earning capacity while the courts are settling alimony.

ReplyDeletePlus, entertainers weren't as obscenely rich in Elvis' day as they are now, and marginal taxes were much higher.
The estate is probably nothing compared to what, say, Paul McCartney will leave behind.
Damn show was rigged for Diddy to land Zhavia. Tim Johnson Jr was better. Not a fanboy whine. I'm not disagreeing with them pushing for the one the feel they can make hits, especially considering Diddy's history of horrible realty show bands (DK excluded). My issue is with show producers and editors who make it too obvious (like every episode of RPDR).

I know from Dolly Parton that Elvis required a songwriter to turn over their songwriter credit to him (and Colonel Parker) if they wanted a song of theirs to appear on an Elvis album. And there are a lot of hit songs in the Elvis catalogue. Surely the are bringing in cash to the estate.
ReplyDeleteI think she sold off a lot of the rights at some point (?). According to Wikipedia, she owns just 15% of Graceland, which may be a drain more than anything. Maintaining a tourist attraction can't be cheap. And big fans of Elvis are a dying breed.
