Blind Items Revealed #3

April 23, 2018

It looks like these foreign born television co-stars who are fairly close to each other on the list have no plans to ever be co-stars in the future despite what fans might want. They can't get along enough to spend five minutes together so there is no way they can do another season of their very hit show despite the short length of seasons for television shows in this country.

Benedict Cumberbatch/Martin Freeman

    1. I thought I was the only Andrew Scott fan.

  2. They dropped the ball with Moriarty. He was fantastic and Andrew Scott delivered stole every scene he was in. I dont think the creators knew they had a gem on their hands and have been trying to backtrack ever since and have no idea how to rectify it.

Also the fact they dont get on would actually enhance the dynamic. The last season was dreaful

  3. Moriarty spinoff, please and thank you!

  4. Andrew Scott was amazing in that show. Love Moriarty and AS!

  5. Interesting. They used to be friendlier, I wonder what happened?

    Freeman's sudden worldwide fame?
    Cumberbatch's sudden worldwide fame?
Freeman's disintegrated partnership with Amanda Abbington?
    Cumberbatch's ostensible showmance?

  6. How great was that first scene with Moriarty at the pool? If you haven't seen the Sherlock/Sail "Reichenback Remix", you must!

  7. And Moriarty stealing the Crown Jewels to Rossini's "A Thieving Magpie". Genius! I miss this show soooo bad!

  8. Last season was unwatchable, so maybe this is for the best.

  9. the last season was garbage. the "twist" ending felt like they couldn't actually think of a clever twist, so they were just like "umm, take this". I felt like Cumberbatchs acting was terrible and strained (I know he is supposed to be amazing, but when he struggles you can really tell). The most interesting character was moriarty and i feel like they didnt use AS well. Whatshername the wife of freemans character was also a lost opportunity imo. The concept of her character was super interesting, but again badly executed. Moftiss have decent idea, and to me always end up falling short. The one thing that held that show together was the cinematography. BC acting was good, but w out the stylish way it was filmed, I don't think the show would have got as much traction, and Cumberbatchs Sherlock got tired as he strained acting wise.
All in all its for the best they wrapped it up, and the few Cumberbatch interviews I've watched in the run up to Avengers, I can lowkey see why co-workers would tire of him after long stretched.

  10. It would be tough to rebound from the last season anytime soon, but I'd love to see a sequel in the distant future.

  11. No one else gets teary-eyed over the beauty of the choreography and editing of the phone chirps into "The Thieving Magpie"? No one? No rush.........

  12. Freeman's disintegrated partnership with Amanda Abbington?

My whole perception of Freeman changed after this. I mean what the heck was up with him? It was bizarre at the time.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Freeman cleared Abbington's debts, which were considerable, and snagged her a role on Sherlock. That often causes an imbalance in a relationship that can't be settled on a personal level. Abbington bears him no ill will according to her interviews after the fact.

Freeman doesn't strike me as a person who could put up with Cumberbatch's schtick for very long. They are different kinds of people and actors. It worked out very well for a couple of seasons of Sherlock. After that, not so much.

Yes, Andrew Scott was absolutely the best thing about Sherlock. What an actor! They killed him off too soon (he was Moriarty, why not keep him around? makes no sense.)

Moffat's TV talents have been run into the ground based on the last 2 seasons of both Sherlock and Doctor Who. He needs to take a long vacation, perhaps permanently.

  14. The show went down hill when they brought Mary on to the show and made so many episodes revolve around her. There were three people in that marriage. I think they both think they're too big for Sherlock now maybe in a few years when the big Hollywood roles aren't offered to them as much they'll revisit Sherlock.

  15. @plot = you win the crown today my friend. couldn't have said any of it better. Moffat ruined everything! that self-indulgent bullshit! killed off Andrew - best actor ever. killed the series and dr. who. his acid-dream stupidity. thank you for saying that - you were dead on target!

  16. I believe this might be Martin's fault. I also agree that Moffat should retire, can someone bring Russel back to DW, please?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Freeman and Cumbers had great chemistry on Hobbit as well as Sherlock, why do they have to like each other? It's called "acting."

  18. Moffat needs a short leash. He wrote arguably two of the best Doctor Who episodes in the new series- Silence in the Library and Blink. Tremendous script writing and tension. Love them. Admire them. Envy them!

He should have stayed a writer of short encapsulated bits of different series. Moffat falls apart when given the helm of a whole series and the season arch. That should have been obvious with Jekyll. Let Moffat out of his cage to work his brief magic then seal him back inside again. Hey! Is there an episode in that?

  19. The first season of Sherlock was pretty good but after that it was worthless and stupid.

  22. I still think the person who approached Amanda on Twitter is from the same group of people running the long-con on Benedict (I’m not saying she was innocent to entertain it—she shouldn’t have, not nobody deserves to have their marriage ruined to serve someone’s greed agenda). There is a very suspicious man Benedict considers a “friend”, he’s been showing suspicious behavioural patterns (not acting in his interest, further digging Benedict’s grave—like he has something to gain from it) since 2014 but nobody’s been willing to acknowledge it.

I wish these two would make up, Martin and Amanda are good people who would make great friends (just look at how protective they are of their children—but yeah, I can understand how they’d find Benedict insufferable). It’s not like they’re grown adults who put themselves before their own children.

If Benedict ever tries to leave his “wife”, I hope he hires extra security (I’ve been worried this man might Chris Cornell him).

I don’t personally know anybody in this blind item (I’ve never even met any of them in my life—never been to a con ever), I don’t claim to have “inside sources” (I truly don’t), and I don’t even need you to believe that I’m a credible source (even I know I’m not). Feel free to invalidate my opinion by labelling me just another “unhinged Tumblr nutter” but I saw what I saw, and no amount of gas-lighting can change that.

I don’t care to share how I noticed what I noticed because it’s an embarrassing (and long) story, but I’ve seen things... The stuff I’ve seen is out in the public, accessible and available for everyone to see—said/posted/tweeted firsthand by the unusual suspects, but nobody cared to acknowledge because they were too busy vilifying that one “wife” character.

And for you conspiracy-minded readers out there: No, I was NOT “hired by his wife” to say that. I still think she’s a shady character, but I just don’t think she’s acting alone. She’s the “bad cop” in all this, and I’m saying the “good cop” is someone you wouldn’t expect.

Those Tumblr skeptics? They’re biased. They’re too busy hating on the “wife” to notice that maaaybe she’s not acting alone, they think she’s this one-woman act evil mastermind like Moriarty or something. Nobody IRL is humanely capable of that! The ladies watch “Sherlock” too much, methinks.

The “good cop” is this thirsty, sketchy person, and the between 2013–2018, anytime I think he couldn’t get any worst, he just does... This guy is so Machiavellian, I feel like if he had a uterus, he’d drug Benedict to get knocked-up by him (hell, even as a male, I think he’d try to conceive with his wife just to make Benedict his new baby’s godfather—just to keep a permanent hold on him for life). This guy is basically a male version of The Widow. What may have originally started as a Weinstein “sanction” turned into something else when he decided to dig his claws in to get a piece of the action. He’s insinuated himself into everyone’s business (he’s like the “manager/spokesperson” to everything baby-related, and I find it interesting how he’s even managed to befriend the DS director, he even promoted Benedict’s honeymoon spot like a proper “social media influencer” at one point—hey, man, hey: http://TagYourSponsor.com).

Even if my suspicions about this guy being part of a long-game are completely wrong, I still wouldn’t feel sorry for him if people think so. That’s what he gets for his shady hardcore coat-tail-riding.

    1. Again, I’m not on anyone’s side—so, don’t even dare suggest I have a “pro-wife” agenda just because I’m not vilifying the “wife” solely (and I said that I “felt bad for her for being stalked”—doesn’t mean I <3 her, it just means I have a normal level of human empathy). The fact that some fools do think she’s acting alone just proves the “good cop/bad cop” trick worked so well on so many people.

I’m also not a Benedict stan. I’ve never met him (don’t want to), I’m not even his biggest fan (I haven’t seen absolutely everything he’s been in—and I don’t get why anyone would fly all the way to Europe to see his plays, WTF). I just happened to get dragged into and mixed up in a mess that should never have been mine to begin with...

In fact I’m quite resentful of Benedict right now, and the only reason I’m posting this (to ask the person who sent this BI in to Enty to please warn Benedict’s people to hire extra security) is because I can’t (in my good conscience) not say anything about it.

And I know the people I’m suspicious of are totally capable of it Chris Cornell-ing him (if he tries to leave the arrangement) because when I criticised one of the unusual suspects (the “good cop”) here on CDAN, I immediately started getting stalked on here and another blog I frequent, Enty’s comments section got dirty, and I began receiving death threats myself (including goads to push me to the edge to kill myself) and reminding me that murders “can be made to look like accidents/suicides”.

In fact, the reason why I’m posting this comment is because said trolls kept taunting me non-stop about “making money off a dead actor’s work/intellectual property” (I DON’T think that’s a death threat against ME—I don’t have much of a body of work, so I’m inclined to think that was more of a threat against BENEDICT’S LIFE).

I feel like if Benedict ever tried to defriend him, he would see Benedict as “more valuable dead than alive” (and try to “silence” him before he has a chance to say, “et tu, Brute?” in public and make that crystal clear to the public). You know, pimping a dead person’s “legacy” as a grieving “friend” à la The Widow, etc. Pretending to be Paul McCartney when he said “my friend [John] was killed” to campaign against firearms.

I hate that I’m actually taking time/using up my energy to write this comment because I know Benedict wouldn’t piss on me if I were on fire. Especially on LABOUR DAY when I should be speaking up for underpaid/mistreated workers instead, FFS. (It’s true, back in 2016, his UK agents tweeted about a Helena Bonham Carter imposter on Twitter but when I told them there was a similar Twitter account catfishing girls online as Benedict Cumberbatch, they DID NOTHING. Not a single tweet from his agents acknowledging that this was happening, not a peep—and it could’ve saved some of the victims a lot of future trouble, prevented victims from getting stalked. They don’t care what goes on as long as it doesn’t hurt their client PR-wise.)

    2. But anyway, to the person who submitted this BI: If your people know his people, could you please tell them to hire extra security for him?

      – Don’t let him be alone with non-family members—not even “old school friends” (actually, ESPECIALLY not them—but you probably already know that).
      – Be watchful toward any edibles/consumables (don’t let anyone anywhere near his food/drinks, or medication if he’s on any, anything he puts on his skin).
      – Check his car (in fact don’t let him drive himself until proceedings are over). One of the trolls taunted/threatened me about tampering with “an actor’s car and they ended up in an accident and he’d collect the dead actor’s residuals”, so understandably I’m worried (I’M NOT TWISTED ENOUGH TO THINK THIS CRAP UP MYSELF UNLESS SOMEONE TAUNTED ME ABOUT IT FIRST—IT’S JUST FUCKING DISTURBING). I don’t know how you would protect someone from a hired hitman crashing into his car, but that’s another possibility.
      – Also, if you happen know Benedict personally: Can you also inform him of what a jerk he’s been for the past 4 years? Cheers.

And honestly? SO WHAT if he ends up spending a fortune on extra security over a false alarm because some random anonymous CDAN commenter online said so? He can afford it!

      BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY.

I’d love to be wrong about this. But hey I have to say something before it’s too late.

Last fucking time I’m ever posting anything to help this asshole.

    1. Oh, I don’t know? Maybe because there’s a lunatic out there who’s catfishing randoms pretending to be Benedict Cumberbatch (and so hundreds of women thought they were his “secret girlfriend” from 2014) and his people are doing nothing to address it?

  26. Snifter asks "Freeman's sudden worldwide fame?" I dunno - when signed to the show, he was the better known worldwide of the two leads (at least credit-wise) thanks to The Office and the titular role in The Hitchhiker's Guide. And had already filmed or been signed for The Hobbit. Cumberbatch hadn't a lead in a feature or international TV hit. He exploded with this role and it certainly cemented Freeman's fame with the general public, not just the trade.

  27. Agree with everyone about the Moriarity thing. He was hilarious and so much fun to watch! About Cumberbatch fans and that diatribe above by Scandi - I've noticed that there are a lot of strongly antisemitic Cumberbatch fans who hate his wife ( not talking about you, Scandi, you just seem a bit odd, frankly),I went to investigate the tumblrs of the fans who think he is faking his marriage, and found among them lots of ancient antisemitic conspiracy theories being spread. Can anyone explain that? Is his wife Jewish? Is that why there are so many rabid antisemites in that group? It is disturbing to see this hate speech being spread by a platform that appeals to teenagers. Ah well, I'd best return to avoiding this site- gossip is, as George Harrison once said, "the devil's radio".

    ReplyDelete
  28. There are certain interests out there trying to frame a new anti-Semetic movement on the internet. Ever wonder why Soros receives so much online attention while the Mercers and the Koches are ignored by the same groups claiming secret worldwide domination is afoot? Yeah...

I've noticed this kind of online behavior on sports sites as well, where there is a certain "interest" that shows up and tries to take over. Once really funny and smart groups are suddenly changed into bitter and conspiratorial places.

It doesn't matter of Cumberbatch's wife is Jewish or not. The excuse lies in anyone thinking that is so, which then carries over into changing the discussion into Dark Forces of Control which singles out certain groups for castigation.

You have added something new to my vocabulary! The Devil's Radio, indeed.

  30. Why do people here hate on Cumberbatch? I thought he had a good media image. And what's the deal with people thinking that his "wife" and "family" are fake? How have you ever got the impression? No exaggerated conspiracy theories, please.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'll try to keep it conspiracy free for you Tamanna, even though there seems to be online manipulation of the subject at hand.

Cumberbatch gained an enormous fan base online from Sherlock. Women, who had probably adored Twilight in the past, changed affiliations to Cumberbatch. The fact that he married so out-of-the-blue to a woman who recently broke up with another guy (and has been photographed with him again after marrying Cum) worked them up into a tizzy. It's like Robert Pattinson married a stranger midway through the Twilight series. Online hearts were broken, Rather than lose their object of creepy desire, they are invested in proving this marriage is a SHAM! BLACKMAIL! FAKE!

Even after the birth of two kids, the Cumberbitches are still invested. The kids aren't his!

It should be over by now and the silly bitches should have moved on to someone else. Why it continues is anyone's guess I suppose.

  32. The most horrific of the Cumberbatch Conpsiracy theorists are two women who have tumblrs called Aeltrileaf and Gatorfisch. They post and re-post antisemitic articles consistently. I haven't found much of that on the other Cumberbatch gossip tumblrs. I suspect that these two women are part of some antisemitic group and are trying to insert their hatred into the Cumberbatch fandom. It's fascinating to me that any of this happens. I really wonder if humanity is ready for global instantaneous communication. It's astounding how many people use it for disgusting nonsense. I assume they also post in other fandoms under different accounts. At any rate, it's crazy out there. Cumberbatch is a talented and sweet seeming young man, but he does seem to attract the extremes of fandom wackiness.

  33. "I suspect that these two women are part of some antisemitic group and are trying to insert their hatred into the Cumberbatch fandom."

I'd say there is a good chance you are right.

  34. Okay, wow. Now that is a level of insanity I wasn't aware of. As a Cumberbatch fan myself, I was only familiar with the part of the fandom that obsesses over his looks, wit, eloquence, VOICE, generosity, and enormous talent. I do remember reading that Sophie and Ben had been friends and got along well for 17 years, so it's possible that they decided to take a step further and marry. It's not so impossible to wrap your head around. Plus if she was photographed with an ex, that could simply mean they decided to be mature adults about a breakup? How hard is that? Why not take into account the countless times she has made appearances with her husband, as opposed to fixating on one photo with an ex?

I came across this article through a venomous Tumblr, "Sophie Hunter octopussy" if I'm not wrong about the name, and good lord, the things that are posted on there... That and another Benedict Cumberbatch hate Tumblr are just hell bent on inferring any seemingly innocuous action or statement by Cumberbatch as a proof of him being the nastiest human being: vain, arrogant, condescending, hypocritical. I came across another blind item which went something like: "Cast of recent big-budget action movie(Everyone's assuming it's Infinity War): Actor 1: You were in a contract relationship! Actor 2: At least I wasn't daft enough like you to turn it into a marriage! Actor 1: Go fuck yourself!" And sure enough, everyone's convinced it's Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston, respectively. Come on. Those are some of the most toxic places on the internet and I know enough not to go on them anymore. I stumbled upon them while looking for a Tumblr Q&A that Benedict had done for Penguins of Madagascar.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Even if Benedict is not always a perfect human being, sure, he might have ignored you while you were waiting hours for him to sign your stuff at a premiere or something, that could he was just having a bad day or was exceptionally tired. He is overworking a lot ever since he's blown up due to Sherlock. From what I've seen, he's still unbelievably nice to his fans and seems like a genuinely nice, grounded man in showbiz.
