Everyone loves this actor. If you ask someone if they like him, they will say yes. He started out on television as a teen on a hit network show and has had some decent movie roles over the years. He is a lead, but one of those quiet leads who straddles the line between indie and box office getting those quiet box office movies. Generally the movies he leads are your movies that look like they are going to have some Oscar noms but always fall a little short. You all know him. Name to face? It is a tough one, but you all know the face. He is married. The thing is though, he is the guy who always leaves his wife at home even if he has a premiere. He got married to have people stop asking questions about his private life.
This story happened about a year ago and the actor paid a settlement and the victim signed a NDA, but is willing to speak here. Apparently our actor, even though he lives in town got a hotel room. He then found our victim on Grindr. Our actor is HIV+. Our actor didn't tell the victim that though. Our actor told the victim he liked rough sex and offered the victim $1000 for rough sex. The victim agreed and before he knew it he was tied up and being used. Our actor didn't use any protection and beat and basically raped the victim multiple times while the victim was restrained. At the end of it, the actor released the victim and actually gave him $1500 instead of the $1000 but had him sign an NDA. The NDA also included a provision that forbid the guy for suing if he caught any kind of STD from the actor.
Fast forward about six months and the victim discovered he is now HIV+. The only person he had unprotected sex with was the actor. When he tried to reach out to the actor he was shut down by his legal team and a pair of security people who visited the studio apartment of the victim. He was reminded of the NDA. When he threatened to go to the media, a repeat visit from the security guards and another letter from an attorney who threatened to sue the victim even though the victim was HIV+. Our victim got a lawyer. The lawyer managed to get $20K from the actor but that was it. He did also find out, the actor has done this to other men before. At least three other men that the lawyer discovered.

You're right! They just got secretly married. Do you think that would work for the "always leaves his wife at home, wven for premieres" part? I think Enty would have called her an SO or longtime GF or something? He's certainly likeable. But I don't know. I don't see it personally and I think the wife thing is still wrong for him but cannot rule him out

I don't think this fits, but Greg Kinnear would be another likeable guy, who is not always high profile name wise, but recognizeable and always near Oscar. Except he was nominated for "As Good As It Gets" and he's been married since 99 and his wife has been photographed with him.

By the way, Anyone see JGL in Hesher? Talk about inhabiting a character and making it believable. That was some good acting. I was a big fan until he did that weird variety show thing.
You can get out of a contract if you can reasonably prove duress. I think being tied up, beaten and sodomized is as clear cut for duress as it gets!
However, the 20k he later took becomes a problem. (this 'took more hush money later' idea was also in one of the dancing boy blinds.) If you want justice, dont f'ing take more hush money!! It MEANS something when you cash that check.
That said, I dont know why people would be so afraid of an NDA. No piece of paper should protect a violent predator from his next victim.
What I really think is that many victims learn that the one to expose gets their life crapped all over and their identity tarnished forever. It's no small sacrifice. So, they'll take the money.
I'm sure the guy is young. His family may not even know that he's gay, no less tricking. That would be a good reason to not want to go public.

Haggis is a good guy (not a great director though.) There is a huge online Scientology presence that is trying to smear him in many different places using many different tactics.

I'm beginning to suspect that we've been had. Not by Enty necessarily but by the source of this BI. If he was so badly assaulted by this celebrity, where are the hospital or doctor's records? It sounds like he would have definitely needed medical attention afterwards according to this narrative. Where are, at least, the witnesses to his condition?

There are only a handful of A-listers in Hollywood who are considered by almost everyone to be among the true "nice guys." Tom Hanks, Keanu Reeves, Brad Pitt, Mark Ruffalo....and JGL (quibble with the star rating if you want, but he's still high on many casting lists).
Not to mention, I have personal experience. I met him a few years ago in New York at an industry event. I'm a nobody, but he couldn't have been nicer or more down-to-earth, inquiring about my line of work. It made me believe the "Regular Joe" moniker he uses really means something.
After reading this site for almost a year, I expect almost everything from almost everyone in this town. But this one was a real punch to the gut.

I think this is more like a Bobby Cannavale or Mark Ruffalo type of actor. Bobby Cannavale did start out on tv as a teen, but is not married. Mark Ruffalo is married but was not on tv as a teen. I know it isn't one of them but I think it is probably a name we are all missing.
Just saying, if you know so and so from church, or you met them once, or your cousin's friend's sister knows them and says they're nice... it doesn't really mean much. If this guy's family doesn't even know, he's not going to go to church and broadcast that he does this kind of thing. He's just going to act like a nice, normal guy, I'd imagine.

Yes, he is with Rose Byrne but I don't see any reference to them actually being married. According to IMDB he started out on a series as a teenager. I don't think his sexuality has ever been in question. I don't think it would be him, but he is someone who has been in many films but may not be known by name.

I'm looking through lists of Indy films and their stars. Paul Rudd - too well known. Is Dylan McDermott too well known these days? Probably too much TV in his past.

Jim Caviezel? Married, never see the wife, too much TV not enough indies? Generally LOVED by his fans.
Kirk Acevedo? Long time married, great guy, tons of indies.
Ron Livingston? Married with a kid, generally recognizable without name recognition, tons of indy stuff. (though I hope not, love him.)

Sounds like both blinds are about gay men. I think Joseph Levitt is the first guy he is not a superstar he is likeable he does okay with his career. But there are rumours he is a closet case. The second blind item IS SO DAMN SAD! I think the victim SHOULD GO to the police anyway BREAK the NDA and get that bastard behind bars! No one "knows" for sure who this is. JGL started his acting career at age seven, so this does not fit him completely. there are many other names out there to research.
I don't see JGL for this at all...I think most people know his name. He purposely married someone nonfamous because he wanted a non-hollywood personal life.
Not having your spouse at premieres doesn't *always* mean you are on the DL. Also never heard any gossip about JGL in the 20 years I've been reading - wouldn't we have heard something before now?
Those assuming the kids of JGL are HIV+ are off base. If the marriage is a sham, he may not even be the father. Nor is it a guarantee that the father's status would impact a fetus.

I thought and still feel like the answer is JGL. HOWEVER, 2 things:
1. this is a serious charge being leveled at a public figure so I want to do sleuthing due diligence
2. JGL's resume does not the description about getting his start as teen on hit tv show. So if we are going to overlook this mistake/misalignment/false clue for JGL to fit, then we should consider other actors who may not meet each specific criteria.
As I said in post a cpl days ago, Enty gave us a LOT of clues, so we really ought to be able to lock this down fairly airtight. I don't think it is airtight. And that troubles me.
And FYI I am not a JGL fan so I am not trying to clear his name. I want some measure of justice for the victim.
