Wouldn't Hulk Hogan be specified as 'sports' person? But his history of concussions and brain injuries would likely lead to dementia/alzheimers. Also, Ozzie-literally decades of drug abuse and all manner of crazy actions(snorting ants?) could also lead to brain problems. And Sharon Osbourne has spoken about her and Ozzie having tests done for Alzheimers...which she says she has 2 of 4 genes responsible for it. Ozzie has Parkinson's so Alzheimer's on top of that would be really tough. But who knows? There are a pant-load of folks who could be heading that way....I think Gene Simmons is just an old fashioned asshole.
If it's Simmons that is going to be hell on his family. He's already a rage addict and maniacally paranoid (listen to the Terry Gross interview from years ago.)
Ozzy is still touring so I don't he would be called "former". I was thinking one of the Better Late Than Never people but they would be actor or athlete and not entertainer.
"Remember when Wikipedia had info about the murder-suicide before it happened?"
I do remember, because it happened not to far from where I live. When they opened his head to look at his brain, the brain was of a 90 year old and it was just full of holes. He had very advanced Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy.
I just saw Ozzy a few weeks ago, he was great in concert, and if you watch him in the Jack and Ozzy Roadshow you would be surprised that he actually seems clean, and healthier than I have ever seen him. Not as much shuffling, and his speech is clearer. (unlike most that saw him, ,i did notice that he was lip-syncing a bit, but you can not be suffering from a disease and be able to lip-sync to war Pigs to perfection. :)
Hulk Hogan?
ReplyDeleteOzzy seems pretty healthy on his show with Jack. He's always been a little shuffly though
ReplyDeleteA horrible disease, like watching your loved one fade away a little bit every day. I hope there's support in place for him and his family.
ReplyDeleteI can see it being Hulk Hogan. A wrestler's job will accelerate damage to the brain over time. Look at Chris Benoit as an example.

Possibly Gene Simmons, given his recent ban from FOX due to an outburst.

ReplyDeleteHH just had that screwup on twitter where he posted a pic of him and bam saying RIP instead of him and ryan then apologized with a whoops
ReplyDeleteRichard Simmons?

ReplyDeleteCould also be Sharon Osborne. She has the gene.
ReplyDeleteSharon is currently A list, though, and was never an entertainer.

ReplyDeleteOzzy's so addled, how would you know?
ReplyDelete(I say that with love, I adore him)
