Blind Item #5

This network show recently got picked up from a pilot. The lead actress was told she wasn't going to be part of the series because of several reasons but it is mainly because the network thought she was too old. They want someone a few decades younger who will sometimes get half naked. The lead actor quit the show in solidarity with his co-star.

    2. Rosie just started with me too. I ended up adding the Samsung web browser and Samsung ad block because I couldn't get ad block on my chrome thru my phone. Took me all day yesterday to fix it. Very frustrating that Chrome let's this happen. The video ads are super intrusive.

  3. Props to Dave! I saw he posted about it on Instagram but didn’t hint about this happening behind the scenes. He’s a great man with integrity.

  6. Good on Dave and lol @ CBS for thinking they can sex up any show on CBS. DA is a guy who has actually maintained normalcy and integrity in this industry- they’re both better off than doing some shitty CBS show.

  7. same old double standard....older and old men still get work in show biz and real life too while we ladies are tossed out like yesterday's trash...remember when Sela Ward who has always been and still is, a gorgeous woman, was told she was 'too old'. what a crock. kudos to the actor who stood up in support of his co-star.

  9. Yeah, it was cool when SHE was the hot one getting jobs other women couldn't, but now it's all such an injustice.

  10. Oh goodness, another legal/military drama where all the Feds are flawless heroes with the subtext we should all just pipe down and let our betters rule the country as they see fit. Ugh.

  11. To be completely honest, DDonna, this tendency for Good Guy Feds and Magical Agents started with your Bush 2 administration and the producers like Brian Glazer who were willing to write defenses for violence and torture on shows like "24". Many certainly answered the call for propaganda when Bush/Cheney called Hollywood.

Good old Brian Glazer, who flew on private jets for sex vacations in the Dominican with Rush Limbaugh.

  12. Yeah because in the numerous decades before that, the Feds were always the baddies in movies and TV, eh?

  13. Have you not watched 70s TV and film?

Even movies from the 50s and 60s were cynical about the Feds and the cops.

  14. "Good Guy Feds and Magical Agents started with your Bush 2 administration "

Kids today have no sense of history. Lookup the old Quinn Martin productions offerings. The F.B.I ran from '65 to '74.

  15. Wouldn’t happen if women ran the studio. They don’t run scared from an older chick not afraid to say no to nudity.

  16. If the lead actor of this series is David Annable, I'm impressed. What integrity this man has for leaving the series in solidarity with his leading lady.

  17. Wasn't there a similar blind 5 days ago blaming her being fired as backlash from the #metoo movement?

Is there gonna be a seperate blind for each of those "several reasons"?

  18. Wasn't on this set so I have no clue what did or did not happen but just speaking as someone that has been on a crew on the same set as MS and it was a living nightmare. She was horrible to women, men and even child actors on set. Hands down one of the worst experiences ever and I know of others in my industry that will same thing!

  19. But...why are producers assuming that actresses in shows, need to be young and 1/2 naked? I loved the show because Mira was in it and a really good actress. I actually watch shows because they're good. Never because they're 1/2 naked women. Do these producers know there are straight women who watch the show too? It's a shame they don't think their show is good enough, for the story line to be enough to make the show a hit. It's also an insult to the writers.

  20. According to his own Instagram comments Annable was fired, he didn't quit in solidarity. I tend to believe something he said himself, especially since it doesn't look good to be fired, so he's obviously not spinning it to make himself look good.

Mira Sorvino still looks great. She really hasn't changed, even her face, in the last 25 years, it's amazing. And in my opinion she has the best body in Hollywood. Or at least the best legs!

Maybe she didn't test well with test audiences. Who knows. Or maybe there's a backlash against #metoo whistleblowers among the good old boys. I could see that happening albeit in a very covert sneaky way that you could never prove.
