This one member of a former quartet turned trio says the fourth member won't be replaced. Then, umm why were you holding auditions for a fourth? A female member just like the other departed member? Someone you were offering a salary of not even union scale which is shockingly low. That was just for fun? The ones you made audition in a bikini to make sure they "looked appropriate."

If this is BEP and Fergie, .. my hunch is Fergie is a permanent member to rejoin at any time. She may want a new direction for her career and doesn't want to do anything in the studio or tours right now. But in the future, maybe?
ReplyDeleteThey had success with a female so I imagine they're trying to find someone to replace Fergie for now that appeals to their audience and fits the band.
Nicole Scherzinger was considered to replace Fergie for a while I thought.
oak ridge boys trying to replace bill golden again? i'll guess garth brooks donned the bikini since he's sick of being a food taster on his wife's cooking show and could use the gigs.

Deletedamn. BEP was SOOOO good pre-fergie. I really hoped they would just go back to SF and make real music again.
ReplyDeleteIt's not unusual for a band who loses a member to hold auditions for a replacement, then decide to go forward with just the remaining members if the auditions don't go well.
ReplyDeleteIt's not unusual for a successful band to hire an unknown temporary replacement musician and pay them a pittance.
Now, having a prospect audition in a bikini -- that is unusual, and is probably the key to identifying the band and the departed member.
