Blind Item #5
This probable permanent A list singer/network reality star can say what she likes about her ticket sales, but the fact is, the owner of the establishment is comping them like crazy just to get the place to even look like it is close to capacity. People are being begged to go.
Katy P?
ReplyDeleteChristina Aguilera has a tour this fall. Could it be her?
ReplyDeleteKelly Clarkson?
ReplyDeleteIsnt tamar braxfon on tour. .
ReplyDeleteBraxton
DeleteXTina FTW
ReplyDeleteProbably Xtina.
ReplyDeleteGwen Stefani
ReplyDeletePermanent A seems high for Braxton
ReplyDeleteEven “probable” Permanent A has never been assigned to Xtina.
ReplyDeleteXtina needs to make a smooth sounding adult contemporary album. She cannot compete with the younger generation and needs to accept it. However, in a whole new lane, she would do great. Most people know her strong voice that belts. Many don’t know her soft and velvet voice. If she did a Sade smooth sound, it would not only be beautiful but it would be different and something unexpected. Songs like “Say Something” where she sings softly. She still has an ace in her back pocket. She should use it. She should use her smooth voice as a way to be different and stand out. Newer generation artists cannot compete with that. She would open a new lane for those who want to hear beautiful vocals and easy listening. Come out with the album in the fall/winter when people like slow music and she’d have way more success than doing songs with 2 Chainz and trying to compete with the young artists.
ReplyDelete@Charisma, I agree.
DeleteThat's the problem with so many stars. They hire people who will tell them "yes" all the time, instead of giving real, practical advice.
It doesn't say tour, the blind implies a one night show or residency with the "owner of the establishment". So Vegas and there a multiple articles with Gwen/team implying "everything's fine." If it's so great, you don't have to keep telling everyone.
ReplyDeleteAgreed with Gwen Stefani, unfortunately.
Totally Gwen Stefani
ReplyDeleteYep, Gwen and Caesars Palace.
ReplyDeleteYou would have to pay me to see Gwen. Snore fest.
ReplyDeleteGwen cannot sing live. I doubt she can fill a venue.
ReplyDelete@Charisma: BINGO!! Man, you pegged that purrrfect. JUST. PURRFECT. Daaamnnn. Those young Disney singers can't remain pop star teenies forever. Let them evolve and embrace it.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Exactly. Go on you tube and listen to her sing “I Love You Porgy” live at a Grammys show if you get a chance. Can you imagine if she used those vocals and the vocals she did on Say Something while backed with beautiful and soft melodies and listening to it on a cold winter day? It would be absolutely gorgeous. All these younger artists can dance on stage, so feautures, dress up. But what they CANT do is sing like Xtina. She needs to stand out. Yes, she did the pop star thing before them but it’s over. Accept it, girl. Your fans grew up. They don’t want that shit. And she’s belted for over a decade. It’s played out to people. She’s a chameleon and can create an entirely new sound for herself. Hopefully after this flop, she realizes this. Adult contemporary, Xtina. GO ADULT CONTEMPORARY. A Sade smooth sounding album. She can Show the people who claim all she does it belt something totally different and impress them. Wtf is she thinking? She’s so tone deaf to what the public would like from her.
Deleteok i'm getting a little tired of the 'they have to GIVE TICKETS AWAY! this star is A FLOP NOW!' hysteria lol
ReplyDeletea little anecdote:
i was given FREE tickets to katy perry's stadium tour for teenage dream, at the the height of her career, when she was the hugest pop star in the world. they do it ALL the time and it's extremely common.
anyway though, i'm pretty sure this is xtina. i like her and i have nothing against her but i always hated the way she sings, she sings like she's lifting weight, she doesn't sound like she enjoys singing she just sounds like she's trying to showboat as hard as possible at all times. she doesn't deserve all the hate she gets though
@charisma a sade style album from xtina would be awesome
ReplyDeleteYeah, my guess is Gwen Stefani, reality being a judge on the Voice. My friends were in Vegas and noticed she had a show, didn't think they would get tickets for the same day, but they did without ANY issue, in fact there were tons of seats left. And that was only her second ever performance, just the week that she started when you would think the demand would be highest. And their seats were amazing, in the first few rows and didn't cost very much for 4 tickets.
ReplyDeleteAs well, my friend called me during a song, and I know that the quality doesn't come through on a phone, but I didn't have to be there to recognize she was basically shouting into the mic, and sounds like an old man. However, the show itself was really good, so perhaps they should consider increasing the back up vocals/track.
It's definitely Gwen Stefani. Radar said the same thing. I went to her show on the second opening night, and it was pretty full but not sold out. It's actually a really good concert. Christina isn't on tour yet. They'll Groupon her tickets like they did for practically everybody else. They did this and last year for Katy Perry, Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie, Mary J. Bluge, Demi Lovato, DJ Kahlid, Fleetwood Mac. I'm sure there are more. Those ones are the ones I saw on Groupon. I went to some.
ReplyDeleteSade is still alive. I would personally really appreciate another "Sade style album" from Sade.
ReplyDeleteWord. There is and will ever be only 1. She is beyond.Fiest saw her when I was 14 and last time about 5 years ago. If someone like Christina Aguilera ever attempts to touch on her greatness I’ll soon expect to see the 4 Horseman if The Apocalypse behind her.
DeleteLmao Sade doesn’t own that brand of music. And how you going to act like a singer who has better vocals somehow can’t touch that genre? In fact more people should touch that genre so there can be more of it. Can’t listen to old Sade albums forever.
DeleteSade never really did it for me.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of which, are Americans ever allowed to have Black American singers again or will it be this endless procession international singing mulattos?
Wheelchair Jimmy, FKA Twigs, that BADABOOO BOOED UP chick...
It never ends
Trevor Noah too, though technically only a singer when he bottoms.
DeleteI saw solo, pop Gwen live once, with a free ticket, and she was soooo boring. Maybe my expectations were too high from hearing how fabulous she was on tour.
ReplyDeleteChristina could so do torch. I like this Porgy song.
ReplyDeleteYes. More vocals like this from her. Most people don’t even realize that she can easily sound smooth. How she doesn’t realize this should be her next move is ridiculous.
Delete@Tricia 13
ReplyDeleteWho?
@Jed Starnes, sade has new material out now.
ReplyDeleteChristina needs what Streisand needed in 1980.
ReplyDeleteBarry Gibb, to do a duet with her, and write her a great, great song. ("A Woman in Love"...Major hit)
He also wrote hits for his brother Andy, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, Dionne Warwick, etc
The guy is a genius.
Stefani
ReplyDeleteOh Gwen, just stop straining yourself for some spotlight and have some dignity for once in a long time.
ReplyDeleteBetween allowing fake gossip and news to spread, being rude to fans, throwing your bandmates under a bus and thinking you can capture 2005 again, it's time to rest that throat and face, honey.
