This story was in the paper today it says we are returning within a decade and the astronauts are going to be staying and setting up a base for travel back and forth and other trips into space.
I hoped to win a gold medal in the suntan competition, but I only got bronze.
Counting on a Uranus joke.....
We never really went. Kubrick did it.

Always love fucking with people with that comment.
I think we'll attempt to terraform them for colonization and make the plot of Serenity come true
Why does a moon rock taste better than an Earth rock?
It’s a little meteor
I saw an interview with someone at NASA, and he said we have lost the technology to do it, because they had dismantled the program so it would kind of be like starting from scratch and not really feasible
How does the man in the moon cut his hair?
Eclipse it.
Why couldn’t the astronaut book a room on the moon?
Because it was full
If athletes get “Athlete’s Foot” What do astronauts get?
Missile toe

If we did go to the moon, for some reason NASA has created many fake breadcrumbs to leave doubt about the accomplishment.
Most likely not. There would certainly be lack of 'human' evidence on Mars or humans in any capacity. The Universe may be what some scientists call fine-tuned. the Fine-tuned Universe hypothesis is the proposition that the conditions that allow the existence of observable life in the Universe can only occur when certain universal fundamental physical constants lie within a very narrow range of values - like the American mall, very little life...
The Moon, maybe, it seems odd that the US got there with 1960's technology, but neither the US nor any other country has sent a human back in a long time. Maybe people gave up on NASA when they changed their mission to satellite maintenance.
Humans on Mars? I attended a panel that had a recent well known astronaut, he thought it was possible but not very viable with current rocket propulsion technology. He said we really need to develop better or alternative propulsion systems if we want to get beyond the Moon.
I hope not. Humans have done enough damage on earth as it is. No need to take it to other planets.
We have never been to the moon. It is not possible to pass humans through the lethal van allen belts. How do people still believe in the moon landings? Surely NASA claiming they've "lost" the technology to return to the moon is the biggest red flag out of the many, many red flags thrown up over the moon landings..
Probably not, the current Administration is too busy destroying planet Earth to be bothered with going to the moon or Mars.
NASA says we can't go back to the moon until we figure out how to shield the astronauts from radiation, and some other minor issues that we apparently just got lucky on last time.
I'm not convinced we *didn't* go to the moon. But it's amazing to think that the Soviets were beating us in space at every step -- first satellite, first animal, first man in orbit, etc. -- and our rockets were exploding on the launch pad at a disturbing rate. Then, because a charismatic and popular president said so, we leaped in front of them and in a few years went not just a few hundred miles into orbit, but 250,000 miles to the moon -- and landed and took off safely several times in a piece of equipment that couldn't be tested in advance under those conditions.
That's pretty remarkable, when you think about it. And Americans just accepted it as our due, because Americans are awesome and can do anything when we put our minds and good old American co-do spirit to it. We wouldn't have believed it coming from any other nation. Would any other people have believed it of themselves?
"We" meaning "human beings"? Absolutely!
Private enterprise will get us back there then the governments and their greedy cronies will get involved fighting over precedence.
Enough
Already.
A shady but not-yet-indicted ex-president believes the mooon landings were a KKK/govt hoax.
Any disagreement with this former A+ (and sinking) lister instantly outs one as a racist.
Ergo, only a racist would talk about going 'back' to the moon.
But if Americans did it today (for the first time), how many would believe it was not a photoshop fake?
Fucksake where's amazing quotes when you need him
Dave McGowan on the moon landing, wew
LOL we never went
Dave McGowan is the one to read on subjects of this sort. Excellent writer.
No but I would support any crowdfunding that off-worlds all reality stars...
trump should be the first one to blast off the face of the earth into outer space. Doesn't matter where.
ENTY, Yes we will GO BACK to the moon. Humanity will make the universe our bitch eventually there's no doubt in my mind. So yes on Mars as well. WE DID PUT A MAN ON THE MOON :D!!!!! USA! USA! USA!
Yes, we landed on the moon. If it was a hoax, it would have been exposed by now. That said - somewhere in my memory I remember that the next step was to establish a space station as a midway point for moon colonization and further exploration (Mars). Okay - we have the space station. We now share it with Russia. Then the money was cut. Nine-eleven happened.
The space race was a part of the Cold War. In the sixties we were excited for the space race - not so any more.
Perhaps looking at those reasons will determine if we truly become Trekkies for real in this lifetime.
Of course the moon landing happened. Don't be ridiculous.
Having said that, I don't believe we'll be doing it again.
No because we were warned off by the aliens mining it.
We will be colonizing the planets. It's our only hope for survival. caveats: 1)We don't self-destruct first. 2)God has other plans, and earth starts over without us.
We landed on the moon. The question is, why bother doing it again? There's nothing fucking there. Huge waste of money that would be better spent on education, helping states fix their shitty highways, etc.
Mars is too far and too much radiation on the way there and on its surface for a manned mission. If we can't go back to the moon, assuming we really did go to and fro and it wasn't a big Cold War PR/Psy-ops operation, what makes you think we can travel to Mars? Not this century. In any case, manned missions make no sense. We are ill-suited to leave our habitat, the earth.
