Your Turn

National sugar cookie day today. Myself, I like a really really thin sugar cookie and not some thick one with a lot of extra batter. What about you? Oh, and would we consider a snickerdoodle to be in the sugar cookie family? Those are something I could eat until the supply is gone.

  1. I thought soda tasted better when it came in the glass bottles.

  3. I've cut most sugar items out--desserts, sodas, juices, sorry Enty. Most everything has sugar in it in one shape or form, so you can't totally eliminate it, just cut it down immensely.

    1. I've been keto - Grain free, sugar free, starch free, high protein and high fat for over a year. Lost 50 lbs and dropped 1/2 my diabetes meds.

Congratulations, M! That’s a huge achievement, getting to the point where you can drop half your diabetes medication 🙌
Good job, no snark here. I’m a doctor (albeit in orthopaedics, so endocrinology isn’t really in my wheelhouse) but that’s something to be super proud of.

  6. Who comes up with the “national (fill in the blank) day”. Why is this a thing?

  9. I avoid most sugar these days with weekly treat of chocolate or at Christmas when someone makes Christmas cookies!!!! Could eat a whole tray of those things. Snickerdoodle is my favorite with real Peanut Butter cookies.

  10. Soft and chewy is the best.. Love a good snickerdoodle, I think they're sugar cookie related.

  11. Why does every single item in the world have its own “National Day”? It’s Monday.

  12. I rarely make or eat cookies so if there is a selection at a party/reception I go for the kitchen sink monster Cooke dough variety

  15. I'm on WW, and spend 2 points on Trader Joe's soft bite biscotti, either chocolate or almond.

Before WW there is a an extra crispy chocolate chip cookie at the grocery bakery section.

  16. I like the loft house kind you buy from the bakery section at Wally World. I have yet to find a sugar cookie recipe for homemade cookies that turns out just right. Too much butter makes them greasy on the bottom, but too little butter doesn’t give them the right consistency. However, there is something very relaxing about watching people on Instagram decorate sugar cookies, and it makes me want to get in the kitchen and bake, but I’m too lazy to want to clean up the aftermath from mixing up and coloring so much royal icing. ‍♀️
