Bryan Singer/Brad Renfro
Still no justice for Brad.
ReplyDelete"Revelation"? Where besides here?
ReplyDeleteThere was a buzzfeed article. Click the date for the old blind. Somebody posted it in the comments.
DeleteThat said, there really wasn't anything in there that hadn't already been written about .
+1 I haven't heard a thing
DeleteI still dont get why he doesnt just get arrested. You can literally google all the dirt on him...
ReplyDeleteA victim has to go to the police within the statute of limitations. Even then it needs to be more than a he said/he said situation unless that first victim emboldens other victims to report to the police. Police can't do anything about rumours.
DeleteThonker they need a human boy to put on the stand or it's just hearsay and circumstantial
DeleteBody * buy boy works too
Deletehow was this ever even a blind? It is actually ON Brad Renfro's wiki page as an anecdote and has been for forever. not a blind!
ReplyDeleteEnterns filler
ReplyDeleteYes there was a whole article about this before.
ReplyDeleteBuzzfeed already revealed this. Poor Brad was so talented. I just think it is awful that no one looked after him. I remember when my husband and I saw Apt Pupil, as we left the theater I told my husband "he is talented enough to win an Oscar some day." I am just sorry that he never had anyone looking out for him, so that could happen.
ReplyDeleteBrad Renfro started to look very sad and empty quite early on. I find it apt that one of my favourite films 'Sleepers' hit on child abuse and he was in it. I was about 13 when it came out. I thought he was beautiful and he could draw people in. Then I saw the film 'Bully' I think it was and you could tell the damage was done. He was so promising.
ReplyDeleteSaying that, I think all the young actors in 'Bully' were very damaged.
DeleteOf course you haven't heard a thing stupidpervs, by your own admission you never do.
ReplyDeleteThis is just heartbreaking. Poor Brad Renfro......
ReplyDeleteWhen David Geffen dies (he's 75 years old), Singer will inevitably fall. Who else can protect him? And it's not as if he's being chaste.
ReplyDeleteThis isn't exactly a revelation. It doesn't take a genius to connect Brad Renfro's downfall to Bryan Singer.
ReplyDeleteBrad was my best friend, and everyone is giving way too much weight to Singer for Brads death.
ReplyDelete(((Bryan Singer))).

Unknown, I'm really sorry for your loss. It is obviously way more complex than Singer alone being to blame. I thought Brad was a great actor and sounds like he was a great guy from what I have read about him.
ReplyDeleteThis was sketchy of Singer (I'm sure he isn't the only sketchy Hollywood person having underage people at their drug and alcohol fuelled parties though).
@Ewahwoohwah
ReplyDeleteAnybody can post here and pretend he was Brad Renfro's best friend. Who's to say I didn't go to school with Britanny Murphy? "such a sweet girl, Hollywood and drugs didn't have anything to do with her death, nor was Weinstein implicated. It was her boyfriend, who was convenke3killed by her mother after having an affair with her ex-brother in law!Honest to God. Join me in my prayers for my dear departed friend".
Now, seriously, what happened to the late actress Lisa Robin Kelly? That 70'S Show was such a mess behind the scenes! With a non-legal Mila Kunis, creepy McMasters and Ashton "Whoops, my girlfriends die on me" Kutcher.

We need another BI about that show and its cast.
"conveniently killed by Brittany's mother after having an affair with her former son in law"

ReplyDeleteYou make a true point, but it's not like this person was saying something inflammatory of someone or of great detail, so I figured they potentially were his friend, for their lowkeyness. Also, I figure it IS way more complex than just Singer (who I'm sure is a shit and I've read too many times was an asshole to Brad to not suspect he really was). I didn't mean to imply that Singer gets some kind of a pass for his treatment of him, and others, if I concede that it probably is more complex than just him, and there are plenty of other assholes in Hollywood. I hope I didn't give that impression, as it is not what I meant.
Am I being dumb or are you saying Weinstein is implicated in BM's death? I really don't know much about that subject.
I totally agree with you on That 70s Show.
Schumacher had a big role as well. Larry Clark. His own father too, it seems. His "handlers". Basically anybody who was supposed to look out for him, exploited him. He had problems long before Hollywood, but that's how it works, right? Find someone with issues, exploit them and make the problems worse. Then after their downfall, pretend you tried to help while blaming it on their "demons".
ReplyDeleteAnother day, another victim.
Also, yeah, Lisa Robin Kelly was raped by Danny Masterson at the very least; I would put money on that.
And Bryan was making major movies way past 2008. This is the problem with helping or defending people like this; it makes them feel comfortable enough to continue their behavior. The system is was too easy on people like this.

ReplyDelete'Find someone with issues, exploit them and make the problems worse. Then after their downfall, pretend you tried to help while blaming it on their "demons".' Yup, it seems to have been going on since Judy Garland etc with these kids in H/Wood.
I've never read anything bad about Larry Clark. I know he is felt to be an exploitative filmmaker though.
Ughhhhh... Brad Renfro is one of MANY. How is Singer still alive and free?
