Hillsong?
+1
I have a friend who attends this church and she absolutely loves it. I cringe for whatever is coming.
Wonder what it is? Teen hookers or fleecing celebrities? Do they hold folks hostage too?
Wasn't there a recent BI about Bieber smoking meth in the bathroom at Hillsong?
Kourtney Kardashian attends this "church". You know something is fucked up.
Sounds like Hillsong.
The sad and awful reality is that so many young people will copy these celebrities because they think it brings them closer to said celebrity. "If Bieber goes to Hillsong and I start going to Hillsong, then we have a spiritual connection." /sigh/
Is there anywhere I can read about Hillsong that has content not FROM Hillsong? I know a few people that go there and really assumed it was just another church.
Yeah @Milo, I've had friends that went to the NY and LA Hillsongs, but have never heard about the $cio connection.
NXIVM (With Canadian and Mexican bases). Supposedly Nancy or Lauren has made a plea agreement This will be huge.
Curious. I've been a Scio Watcher for nearly 20 years now and have never heard, read or seen any connection to Hillsong. The only comparison would be the exploitation of their celebrity members to boost expansion and/or ridiculous prices for services and seminars. But, yeah... most likely Hillsong. My guess? Please show the nice detective where the pastor made you touch him. Same old mega church song and dance.
Is Hillsong a scientology offshoot? I think NXIVM is more CoS like.
according to previous blinds I think Hillsong has levels and the wealthier patrons are gifted young women that the flashy celebs recruit in exchange for their donations.
so yeah fairly cult like.
Hillsong. Originally from Australia. And has all these celebs who you know are brain-dead as its members.
Raniere copied a lot of Scientology's practices. The way this blind is worded it should be NXIVM. One of their top officers has flipped it is over for them. Shiny young celebs would be Allison, Kristen, Nicki. But this is CDAN so it could be Hillsong's group.
Milo, Start with the following article. There are many more similar exposes online.
People in Glass Houses: An Insider's Story of Life In and Out of Hillsong, a critique of Hillsong published in 2007.
Milo, Here's an even better link to claims Hillsong was created as a money-making venture:

I'm from Australia and Hillsong has been around for years and years. It's music orientated and really enticing for the youth. Lots of socialising outside of the church, youth group, activities and they make the worship really "modern" with the music etc.
I stopped going to church the minute they had a speaker talk about how god cured his homosexuality..
The church is bullshit obviously - maybe slightly cultish, but not anything like CoS in my opinion.
Just give us the damn koalas and kangaroos, you cull them anyway.
Sheep usually gets slaughtered.
