Apparently this former A- list singer/reality star/movie actress/mogul is diabetic.

Why is this on here?

Jessica Simpson. Diabetes is often set off by pregnancy.

Jennifer Hudson?

sandybrook said...

Yeah I can see Jessica being this.

Btw, I was just thinking today that Jessica Simpson has the life Britney should have. Plenty of money, dull but domesticated spouse to keep her company, kids, peace and quiet.

Why is this a blind on a gossip sight? Who cares if she's diabetic. I wanna know who's cheating and who's an azzhole in real life.

MDAnderson said...

Agree with Simpson. Tyra wasn’t an A- list singer

AND?

I think it’s worth talking about. We just talked about someone having sickle cell anemia a coyote items ago - why is this different?

Celebrities with diabetes can be inspiring to the millions of others living with it. Nick Jonas is a good example.

100% Jessica Simpson w/ gestational diabetes

This is what happens when you eat trash and don’t care about your health or being obese while pregnant.

Brayson87 said...

Okay, we'll have to remember that next time she comes to dinner.

Yeah, well, Nick Jonas is in great shape and he’s diabetic. Tom Hanks too. And Mary Tyler Moore back in the day.

But thanks for the misogyny and body shaming.

Nick Jonas is a Type 1 diabetic. Juvenile diabetes has nothing to do with weight anyway.

Anyone can get gestational diabetes. I know stick figures who had gestational diabetes when they were pregnant.

MDAnderson said...

Halle Berry has Type 2 diabetes I believe

MountainMama said...

OMG folks, gestational diabetes happens to all shapes and body types. There are plenty of fat ass women, that get fatter during pregnancy that do not suffer from it and there are plenty of thin gals whom do get it. Probably the common factor in them all is some type 2 diabetes in their close family members.

@Nutty_Flavor this is exactly the type of life Brittney should be leading. So sad that she is anything but independent.

@ MD Anderson - Halle Scary has type 1 diabetes. I remember her talking about insulin shots. Some people misuse them to keep their weight down too.

As for Jessica Simpson, the tabloids claim she cannot stop eating. The diabetes makes sense, her body cannot properly use glucose for fuel so she is constantly eating to keep the blood glucose up.

Gestational diabetes is very scary and very dangerous.

@nutty

Lol you’re a fucking idiot - diabetes isn’t all the same. Nick Jonas has type 1. But keep bitchin, twat

Brandi?

Halle said she was Type 1 and diagnosed at 22. That’s nearly impossible and she was called out on it and now says she’s type 2.

...and so?

Yup, definitely JS with gestational diabetes. My daughter had it with both of her pregnancies. She is 6ft with a slim, athletic build and, for the most part except college, eats a pretty healthy diet. Both of my grandkids were over 9 lbs and looked like toddlers at birth. It is definitely a bitch to manage.

She's turned into a blimp. Shame she was so beautiful. She can lose the weight tho

@ MD Anderson - A person can be diagnosed at age 22 with type 1 diabetes. Diabetes runs in both sides of my family. Type 2 diabetics who do not take care of themselves can develop type 1 but Type 1 cannot turn into type 2.

I did do some digging on Halle Berry. She did say she had type 1. Some sources report she claims she has been cured of it. One article is saying she may have been misdiagnosed. I am not her doctor so I am not gonna go further into it.

Here are the links.

@nutty. The people you.listed have type I which is genetic and not caused by obesity and is 10000x deadlier.

SnarkyAngel said...

Jessica was in DM today, so there ya go.

Anne Morton said...

My 6 year old child was diagnosed type one. She is and was underweight. Type one is an autoimmune disease you can’t prevent or cure. Nothing to do with diet.

MDAnderson said...

I have worked a lot with endocrinologists and type 1 is diagnosed at a very young age. It is very rare to go through childhood and not be diagnosed with Type I. The fact that she says she was cured and doesn’t need insulin anymore is NOT TYPE 1. When she was called out then she said she was misdiagnosed. Believe whatever you want.

MDAnderson: I hope that the "MD" in your username doesn't indicate that you are, in fact, a medical doctor. My thin, active, presumably healthy daughter went in for a series tests (because her father has cancer; in order to set a baseline for her) and was diagnosed this year with Juvenile diabetes.

She's 27. It does happen.

It’s actually a world renowned cancer center that many of my family members have been taken care of. If you think that saying something is rare and proven otherwise disregards an MD degree then there would be no doctors left.

My husband was diagnosed with type 2. With changing our diet he cured himself (basically) of it. I added the basically because idk if you can or not but everything is in check now.
He very easily could have died. Kydoacidosis shock, blood sugar (no not exaggerating) was @ 1375 , but his wife is annoying and he wanted the changes too.
This sounds horrible but he's let himself go back to what it was before and now I hope he gets diagnosed again. Not as bad obviously but to get him back in check.

Now! said...

@Sd Auntie. You are correct than Nick Jonas has Type 1, but Hanks has Type 2.

Now! said...

@notthisagain You seem to have a huge problem with women’s bodies. Not only are you deeply disgusted by women who are pregnant or obese, but your insult of choice is always “twat” or “cunt”.

Freudian analysis might be a good fit for you.

Kansa said...

Not impressed with your language, @notthisagain. Pretty intense for a mere discussion of diabetes. You must have really poor impulse control to write something like that over something like this. Try being civil.
