Blind Items Revealed #4

December 19, 2018

As I told you really early in the season, this actor was brought back simply for publicity because of who he was dating. After that ended, the actor wasn't really needed at all. They are shutting him out and I think it is a tossup whether he shows back up after the Christmas break.

Pete Davidson/SNL

  2. The real question is if anyone is watching and will notice. I stopped watching SNL after they shut funny out.

    1. I'll go further...I don't think it's been worth watching since Eddie Murphy left. It's sad that the best sketch since the 80s was about cowbells.

  3. without a routine or a job, he will get worse

  4. Pretty sure his main routine is doing drugs and f*cking hot chicks, I think he'll do fine.

  5. Millenials are always mistaking me for Aidy Bryant. I am the OG Fat Chick in a tight skirt chowing down at the all-you-can-eat buffet!

  6. I don't know how he ever landed on SNL. It seems like they never used him. Part of the deal there is if you want screen time, you mostly have to come up with your own material.

    1. Well it's NYC, and he supposedly leaned heavily on the story of his father (if the NYFD -- he died on 911). Somewhere recently I heard or read SNL referred to that story some 3+ times the first night he went on air.

  9. @notthis, Well that was my original retirement plan, f*ck playing golf, so we'll have to see how he does ;)

  10. Hope he gets help but I've only ever seen him in the background of the skits...

It depends on what u like and enjoy and find funny.
Bill Nader and Kristen Wiig were very good. Inventive . Crazy.
Kenan is a blast sometimes, I love his David Ortiz.
Right now tho, I agree ...right now, SNL is a bleak landscape.

  12. The latest trend is to pick up a camera , and tell the world that you're depressed.
Today, Mayim Bialik is reporting about her depression on camera from her bed. Isn't she the parent of two children?
Bialik has a personal physician. There are people trained for these situations. See them.

  13. Watch it every Saturday and its hilarious. Then we talk and laugh about it the next day. Its better than when Meyers was on.

  14. This Pete Davidson pity party has about run it's course and it's a damn shame anyone have to hold their tongue for fear of him offing himself. Better pieces of shit kill themselves everyday and this fuck gets chance after chance at stardom and all he wants to do is goof off in front of the camera like Leslie Jones. At least she's taking it a little more seriously nowadays. It be a damn shame if you took your life because no one wants to see that shit and it just makes it seem selfish anyway (*please don't harm yourself*) but yeah life sucks, but I wasn't offered no internship at SNL either, suck it up buttercup and write some original material ya fucking nutbag.

  15. SNL has been bleak for many years except for a few bright shining moments. Fey,Whig, Shannon, Poehler, and Rudolph all shone on the show when they were allowed. It's hard for women to break through the good old boys club of SNL. It seems after they had the surge of the string of hilarious women it just dried up. The last brilliance I saw on the show was when Justin Timberlake would host/sing. He could have been a cast member for sure.

There have been long dry spells before with SNL, but nothing like this. I hate to say it, but it might be time to pull the plug.

  16. SNL still gets strong ratings in a timeslot where no replacement would prosper. It isn't going anywhere.

I disagree. I think Pete can actually be pretty funny at times in the right context. And there are still some great sketches on SNL. Peter Dinklage's Space Pants is pretty amazing. And the Trump/Hillary/Bernie skits have been fantastic. Beck Bennett plays an amazing Putin.

Is the show hit or miss? Absolutely. But every so often they strike gold. My husband and I still joke about the Ghost Hunters spoof with the fart that everyone thought was a ghost. It was stupid but isn't all SNL stupid? I mean I grew up on the original cast so it's not like the Killer Bees and Candy Gram skits were masterpieces here. You're allowed to like all the different generations for different reasons, folks. In fact, you can like skits from the entirety of the series and it still won't affect your elitist status, I promise. I promise, you can still ask for more cowbell and gold-plated diapers while still enjoying the Olympia Restaurant and Schweaty Balls skits.

  18. Yeah, alright, Lorne

  19. Pete was messed up way before he met Ariana and clearly Lorne has a soft spot for him and keeps him on the roster. The only thing that will get him fired if he hurts the show. Which so far people have just rallied around him in support. I know Enty has tried to predict his firing for about 2 years. But if Kenan has hung on for so long. Pete has a few more years on the show.

  20. I wish someone would bring MAD TV back.

  21. I still watch SNL, live or on HULU. Sometimes it’s very funny.
