Blind Item #3

Everyone outside the industry was expecting this French sounding actor to get n Oscar nomination. What they didn't know was our actor's underground reputation for not being such a nice guy and the inability of his PR team to overcome that reputation.

    Entys bein a cool kid

  2. Please. Lots of a-holes with overt reputations for being huge pricks have been nominated and even won - see Sean Penn.

    Quit faking insider intel, enty.

  4. Regardless of Sean Penn's behavior, there are others who have been basically blackballed from the Oscars because they burned the wrong bridges and ruffled too many feathers, while maintaining a decent outward image. Eddie Murphy is a prime example.

  6. I can’t see Timothee Chalamet being an asshole at all! So I’m not on board with this being about him.

  7. @This and That, agree. There would have been some rumors about him. EVERYONE who works or met him says he is incredibly nice and humble.

  8. Eddie Murphy was not liked by insiders, that's why he lost out on Dreamgirls. Burned too many bridges.

    1. No the main theory was his new movie Norbit came out during voting and it was so bad ppl didn’t want him to be an Oscar winner

  9. Look at Affleck and best director nom.

  10. Unless he kicks puppies while smacking nuns with kittens, this kid is waaaay too young to have a reputation strong enough to keep him from getting awards when there are sooooo many other trashy terrible people picking up statues left and right.

  11. The worst thing I've heard about Timothee is that he's like an annoying theatre kid. Doubt this is him.

  12. Also, this "underground reputation" thing. If you are a young actor like Chamalet and you act like a dick, why would you be hired by the same people over and over again? Gerwig cast him again in Little Women, Brad Pitt produced Beautiful Boy and then cast him again in The King. Guadagnino said he would work with him again in a second...
I'm all for exposing assholes, but his sounds off.

  13. Or maybe he doesn't put out. Remember the women who got reputations for being "difficult" actually just wouldn't do Harvey.

  14. All I know is that Call Me By Your Name is one of the most beautiful movies ever made.

  15. @Freebird, yes it was!
And I think I start to ramble here a little bit, but he was nominated for everything else. Even a SAG nomination. If he really managed to tarnish his reputation in just a year, he would have been shunned.

  16. "nice guy" might mean "sucking producer cock".

    ReplyDelete
  17. Maybe wasn't nominated because no one saw his movie.

  18. Eddie also was caught with that trans woman who was found dead shortly after she sold her story

  19. It's a well deserved snub. Call Me By Your Name did more to normalize pedophilia than NAMBLA could ever have hoped.

  20. Wow... that is probably one of the dumbest things I've read in a long time.

I don't know if the Chalagay kid got knocked out of the Oscars so much because he's disliked and a mean person. It's likely more because he's young and at the beginning of his career, and any person of color who did any kind of decent performance at all in any kind of movie at all was going to get a nomination this year. He lost out for the sake of diversity. Everybody knows it. Nobody dares to say it.

    2. Mahersha Ali was the only non-white nominee in the Best Supporting category and I really doubt he stole little Timmy's nomination. Ali's performance and his movie are superior to Beautiful Boy.

  22. oh c'mon you can say a lot of things about timothee but he is a nice person with fans & show businesses people, everybody even journalists love him I do wonder who is pissed with him?

    1. No one is pissed with him. No one saw Beautiful Boy.

  23. I find it utterly hypocritical that movies like Call me by your name win award after award, all while actors are being pressured to stay in the closet. Especially male actors. I'm going to boycott gay-themed Hollywood movies from now on.

    1. it was not HB produced. Only when it was popular they nominated it. But few “digest it”

  24. @trufflepig Well, that is Hollywood for you. But I would not call CMBYN a Hollywood movie. It was independently founded. No one in Hollywood wanted to put a dime into it. Only after it was a critical and audience success.

  25. Well, the movie was not great. He was good, but if the movie is not good, it can drag the performers down.
This year sucked as a whole. I hated, HATED Green Book and Bohemian Rapsody. The only one that was decent was The Favorite. Mediocre year.

  26. Maybe the blind is just reaally strangely worded and Enty is referring to Bradley Cooper who is fluent in French (or so I read) and gave his daughter a French-sounding name?

    Mmmhh... probably not

  27. Wow, so many comments, surprised people actually gave two sh!ts about this one.
Okay let's take it from the top. How many NOT foreign born actors with French sounding names were expected to get Oscar noms?

  28. French sounding actor = Timothee Chalamet

get an Oscar nomination = Beautiful Boy

reputation = working with pedo Woody Allen
