She will be fine soon.

AND!?! one of the most common medical complaints going. Not remotely worth a blind.

Maybe Jessica’s people were the source of this blind. Spokesperson role for a pharma company? Hard to believe she’d need the money.

I don't see where this is "blind-worthy."

Gestational diabetes is just that, gestational. Meaning it will go away once she is no longer pregnant. It's very common for women to develop this during a period of pregnancy.

Looks like Enty blew his load on the January 1st reveals, so we're getting these now. Diabetes is not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things. Certainly not worthy of a BI or BI reveal.

Does her drinking affect the diabetes?

Gestational diabetes does not always go away. It usually does, but some unlucky women still have problems after the birth. If you dig into the family medical history you will see a history of diabetes.

Sometimes the child develops diabetes later in life.

This is not something to be flippant about.

Gestational diabetes is dangerous for both mother and child.

I certainly don't downplay it as I've had many friends go through it and have taken care of people with it as an EMT, but as a blind item it just seems odd.

+1 for this so she can be sponsored on Keto after she gives birth like she did with WW after she ballooned with kid #1

I'm with TW: it is gestational, meaning it will go away once she delivers the baby. Provided she takes care of herself now (during the pregnancy) and afterward, she should be fine.
Gestational diabetes baby tend to be big, and need to be monitored in the immediate 24-48 for problems with low blood sugar, maintaining body warmth, and nursing properly (breast or bottle).
And Jess is not a spring chicken anymore - she is considered an "elderly' mother to be (hate that term). Hope all goes well with her.

Isn't that only while pregnant? (side-eye)

Umm HIPAA?!

@LogoGirl

It is called "gestational" because condition began during the pregnancy. If it does not go away after the birth it is called diabetes.

Diabetes kills people, even the ones that aren't pregnant.

As I said before, gestational diabetes is dangerous for both mother and child. The mother is at higher risk for pre-eclampsia, stroke, heart attack, etc.

Diabetic people metabolize medications differently than those who do not have it. Jessica will have a huge baby, if she needs a C-section she will have complications from the medicines.

The mother has a higher risk of developing diabetes later on in life.

The mother has a higher risk of pregnancy complications if she were to get pregnant again.

The child suffers immediately after the birth. Ironically the child has low blood sugar.

The child also suffers a higher risk of developing diabetes later in life.

Gestational diabetes is mostly gestational diabetes. You have a higher chance of getting it later in life - typically type 2 or adult onset diabetes. You can also remain diabetic after you have your child but that's not very common.

It's nothing like what type 1 diabetics have or go through.

Is there any corollary between downing gallons of kosher spunk to become a star and diabetes? We have to ask the awkward questions, too, or this is all just a big circle jerk... oh, wait....

I am a type 1 and have been for 25 years. I had to have a c section bc typically the placenta starts to fail making a full term baby not so likely. Needing to take the baby out around 37 weeks via c section - or you can be induced too. But the bigger the baby the more of a chance of needing to have the c section in the first place. :)

And!?!? I had this with both my pregnancies.

Jessica has a crappy diet and will need to make exercise a priority. Gestational should not be taken lightly and she can maintain her AC1 level with proper maintenance. @ MS089_-sorry to hear you have Type 1. It is very different from type 2. Wishing you the best!!

WTF is this even to discuss?!

I’m diabetic. Nothing to see here.

Jessica adores anal sex. She will never do no wrong in my book. Ever.

I'm also Type 1! And yes, comparing gestational or type 2 to type 1 is just plain ignorant! Sending great blood sugar levels to you!
