I make chicken salad with shredded chicken breast, chopped Granny Smith apples, chopped pecans, and chopped red onion, along with mayo. My mom also puts chopped celery in hers but I leave it out.
I love tuna salad but I can't eat it anymore because of blood thinners. Just a little diced onion soaked in pickle juice and salt and pepper and mayo. One dash of creole mustard. mmmmm
Fresh egg salad, made with fresh eggs, Best Foods Mayo, tiny bit of chopped chive or green onion, a bit of sweet or dill pickle relish, tiny bit of Coleman's Dry Mustard, pinch of salt, twist of fresh pepper on a freshly baked croissant or brioche bun.
Raven-- spreading the about that darn CAPTCHA is a beautiful act of kindness. I was convinced I seeing stop signs and traffic lights in bushes and on billboards!
They are all good! But it’s a hard choice between tuna and chicken. I probably make chicken most often(don’t eat tuna much now after Fukushima). I actually made it a few days ago.
Yeah you right Amartel about the mayo delivery system! But onions and pickles are a must. Something about that combo. That's how I take my burgers too. Mayo pickle onion.
@Florin - yes to the Heinz 57! I'm not a huge tuna salad fan... but with a bunch of diced pickles and some steak sauce, it's kinda yummy. A1 works too, but Heinz is better.
Depends on what is in it and who’s making it. I put my foot in all of them. Not literally, figuratively. What’s even better is shrimp, crab or lobster salad. I do more shrimp and crab because it is caught locally and prep and cook it myself. Tuna season is coming and there is nothing better than fresh tuna salad with homemade mayo on homemade sourdough. Now I’m hungry.
I’m a vegetarian, but I still make tuna salad sandwiches with slightly mashed garbanzo beans instead of tuna. Add mayo and pickles, serve with sliced tomato. So good.
I also love it with mayo, curry powder, and halved red grapes on bread.

ReplyDeleteOk, Krab and Donna, if you ever find me begging with my face smashed up against your kitchen windows, you have no one to blame but yourselves!😋
ReplyDeleteRaven-- spreading the about that darn CAPTCHA is a beautiful act of kindness. I was convinced I seeing stop signs and traffic lights in bushes and on billboards!

ReplyDeleteMiracle Whip vs mayonnaise, which is better?
ReplyDeleteOld fashion Tuna salad. Just boiled eggs, onions, and sandwich spread.
ReplyDeleteIt's like asking me to ask which one I hate the sound of the most: gumsnapping, nailclipping, or whistling.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter. It's just a mayonnaise delivery system.
ReplyDeleteEgg salad.
ReplyDeleteYeah you right Amartel about the mayo delivery system! But onions and pickles are a must. Something about that combo. That's how I take my burgers too. Mayo pickle onion.
ReplyDeleteNope to all because mayonnaise is far too likely to go off.
ReplyDeleteChicken salad on an everything bagel!
ReplyDeleteCoronation chicken is a British curried chicken salad with dried apricots. Also delicious. (It was originally made for QEII's coronation in 1952.)
ReplyDeleteChicken salad! Use chopped roasted breast and add tarragon

ReplyDeleteNone of them.
ReplyDeleteAll good, but chicken salad. No question.
ReplyDeleteI love all three, but probably because I'm an egg freak and a mayo freak, egg salad has the edge. Eggs + Condiment made from Eggs = Heaven.
