Seems like that office is more afraid of winning cases.
that is not double jeopardy if it's a different victim.
he cannot be convicted on the ORIGINAL charge that he was acquitted of. if this is a different victim, it's a new charge and therefore has nothing to do with double jeopardy.
I guess what they mean is she won't testify or have the tape be submitted as evidence.
Oh I didn't know he pissed on this most recent girl too, dude must have a fetish for fire hydrants or something.
or a weak bladder lol :)
He should've been in jail 30 years ago
Redvelvetboots-- LOL!😂
Raven-- I thought the same thing😕
Brayson- right? I'm thinking this kim foxx desperately wants to avoid trials!
https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/states-attorney-kim-foxx-calls-jussie-smollett-washed-up-celeb-who-lied-to-cops-in-text-messages
Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx described “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett as a “washed up celeb who lied to cops” in texts messages released Tuesday by her office in response to a public-records request by the Chicago Tribune.
Foxx compared Smollett’s case to her office’s pending indictments against R&B singer R. Kelly in text messages to Joseph Magats, her top assistant, on March 8, the paper reported
“Pedophile with 4 victims 10 counts. Washed up celeb who lied to cops, 16 (counts),” she wrote. “… Just because we can charge something doesn’t mean we should.”
It's not double jeopardy that would cause the tape of the previous victim to be withheld, it's that evidence of the prior bad act would cause a bias against Kelly in the jury and therefore would deny him a fair trial. I just watch an unholy amount of Law and Order and I'm correcting Enty?
They say it's the same girl, different tape so technically, it is double jeopardy.
