I Think it is supposed to confirm the rumors that CS Lewis was a pedo, that Tolkein's son was abused and became an abuser himself.

ReplyDeleteTolkein's son died. He was a priest who was accused of molestation. He then came out and said in early 2000's that he was abused by one of his father's academic friends in the 20s when he was a boy, who he refused to name.

JM Barrie is a good guess. The boys are going to bed, and are asleep at the beginning of Peter Pan. So if you read the book backwards it would end with unconscious lads.
