Brian Houston Hillsong Church?
Gary Clarke not Houston?

They need to hire Miscavage as a consultant. Celebs have to pay too.
Chad Veach??
I would just leave a note in the collection plate saying what charity I'd donated to. No church official could rightfully object to that without looking like a jackass.

I don't participate myself, Do Tell, but if you participate in the church, then theoretically, you agree with what they do with their money, otherwise, why would you be going to the church? Would you go to a cinema and let them know you don't need to buy a ticket, because you have a membership at the museum?
Church costs money just to go these days? Seriously? I don't attend church, it's not my religion, but I certainly wouldn't be paying to attend if I did, because that is an obvious racket perpetrated by a nontax-paying organization. If they want money, that's what those bazaars, Sunday school fees and bingo games are for.
I guess the sex with selena gomez just wasnt worth it
Church's have always expected congregation to pay a tithe.
David Miscavage and Church of Scio
That cult might have 501C status, but it's not a church. Millenials love the rock n' roll churches Hillsong has a sordid past: its founder molested scores of young boys where it was founded, in Australia. Shitty foundation equal a dirty cult.
No, you don’t have to pay to go to Hillsong.
a simple google search of the Hillsong guy will yield his fantastic failure of a book on amazon. the title really says all you need to know about him
@Lefemmecoyote - but you're expected to donate a certain percentage of your wage!!! That pastor from Hillsong that follows Justin around, not letting him out of his sight is a leech! I can't believe Justin has fell for these charlatans!
Tithing is in the torah. It's a portion of your wealth you return to the Creator in thanks & gratitude. Churches used to take the monies for evangelizing and missions. Now, it's just a money-making scheme. You are "encouraged" in most churches to give over and above your tithe (10 percent of your income), for special projects. Bragging about who does/doesn't give and how much is the oldest and most boring gossip. Stop tithing to tax-exempt corporations.
Organized religion is a scam.
Do a google search. About 30 percent of people who attend services actually tithe. And the Church doesn't look down on people who donate to charities instead.
lol @Do Tell: as if Googly would know who tithes and who doesn't.
LOL, Elphin, it's as if there are multiple surveys and multiple news stories and articles, *that are accessible via a google search*, that refer to church officials who have given the 30 percent range as their estimate of who actually tithes.
Yeah tbh I would trust google statistics more than a rando on the internet
This Hillsong congregation sounds more like a cult like NEXIVM than a regular church. What's the appeal? Branding and orgies involving the pastor and his flock?
@ Paul The appeal is you could meet some celebz at the service
