Blind Item #1
Although the kitchen staple name of this former A list group from back in the day makes it sound as if there are just two members, there were actually three. In that big reunion tour headlined by the band with the New Edition connection, though there will only be two members. The third was fired so the other two don't have to share the money from the tour.
Bell Biv Devoe?
ReplyDeleteTouring with Bobby Brown.
ReplyDeleteSalt & Pepper. Spinderella (DJ) is third member.

DeletePoor Spinderella. She says Salt and Pepa were not going to tell anyone - they were just going to go on tour with a counterfeit Spinderella.
ReplyDelete@nutty - that is sad.
ReplyDeleteThat sucks - I love all three, I will not be supporting that BS when they come to chicago.
ReplyDeleteIf I was Spinderella then I wouldn't let this snub go unheralded. I would push it. Push it good.
ReplyDeleteGood call Vic!
ReplyDeleteBread, lol. That's WAY back in the day.
ReplyDeleteThey'd get more of a crowd if they did a Salt-n-Peppa Pig tour... pull in parents and the kids.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I always keep some Bell Biv Devoe in my pantry.
ReplyDeleteThese comments are hilarious!
ReplyDeletePoor Spinderella, that sucks
To be fair to Salt N Pepa, they didn’t really feature Spinderella on their songs or give her verses until Very Necessary.
ReplyDeleteAlso, these “remember the 90’s shows” or whatever are always a blast. Some certainly have a better lineup than others but you get all the bops
@Unknown.
ReplyDeleteWell I'm not eating anything from your kitchen it could be....oh finish it yourselves, for fucks sake.
My first thought was Peaches and Herb, but there are only two of them
ReplyDeleteE, if this happened to Peaches and Herb they wouldn't be able to do their big hit!
ReplyDeleteSaw Salt and Pepper in the 80s and it was good. Excluding Soinderella is just greedy. Would not see theme agaim anyways.
ReplyDelete@hothotheat - I thought of Bread too! I'm old, lol. Also thought: Red-hot Chili Peppers; The Thompson Twins (1980s British group - there were three of them; Bros - again, apart from the twins Matt and Luke, there was Craig. But yeah, Salt n Pepa.
ReplyDeleteIts Spinderella...her instagram
ReplyDeleteIn sink?

back in the day when my son was 6 or 7, he would sing to their song in the car. i had to tell him it was "smush it" .... LOL you know, like smushing a bug.
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely Salt & Pepper/Spinderella. They are going on tour with New Kids on the Block this summer (their connection with New Edition was that they were both formed by Maurice Starr in Boston). But in all realness, what does Spinderella actually do? Spin records in the background with Salt & Pepper are out front doing all the performing, rapping, dancing? Would you want to split the money with someone standing behind you who is really contributing a whole lot of nothing if musicians or background tracks are playing the music?

ReplyDeleteLol Brayson. We are not that old!
DeleteI interviewed Salt N Peppa when I was on the newspaper staff at Slippery Rock University in the early 90’s. They were so incredibly nice to me. I was this so incredibly white, “my favorite singer is Olivia Newton John” girl who knew nothing at all about them or their music (for you young uns, this was before the internet, when you couldn’t google anything). To this day I cringe thinking of how bored they had to be while I asked my bland, generic questions. I have their autographs somewhere.
ReplyDeleteLive nation is selling tickets to salt n pepa for $20 until the 7th if anyone is interested in going hahaha
ReplyDeleteSpinderella is the third wheel she was never the star. Salt & Papa are the stars of the group. Business is business they don't need her.
ReplyDeleteAmartel-- LOL, that got me!😂😂
