Blind Item #2
This A list director spent an evening with this foreign born director/rapist where they each screened the other's new film and sucked up to each other. The former then praised the latter publicly which is not going to help things press wise.
Polanski and?
ReplyDelete/Tarantino
DeleteOr Tarantino/Polanski Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Deletehas to be.....
ReplyDeleteThat was admittedly the combo that came to mind. Tarantino must view Polanski’s past as more of a feature than a bug. Creep.
ReplyDeleteZero Oscars here without Harvey to run interference. Q’s last movies without Harvey haven been bloated and way too long.
ReplyDeleteSharon Tate was married to Polanski at the time of her murder. So it isn't surprising that the two would talk. Bringing in Polanski as a writer/producer would be a bad idea.
ReplyDeleteTotally read that as sucked off
ReplyDeleteGuhross
Hang on... I thought Tarantino tried to murder Uma Thurman by asking her to drive a car... and then they dated for a while afterward... but anyway Tarantino was #metoo blacklsted. What happened?
ReplyDeleteThey never dated. She was his “muse,” meaning he liked her feet. She also gave him the idea for Kill Bill.
DeleteTarantino-Polanski sounds right. Margot Robbie plays Sharon Tate in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
ReplyDeleteThe car wasn't road safe, @J, and the majority of women in #metoo aren't celebrities. It's still rape/sexual assault if the victim is female..
ReplyDeleteOdd how she dated him afterward, Viking Song.
ReplyDeleteAlmost irrational, almost piss-poor judgment.
+1 Rosie, that's what I read at first glance too 😅
ReplyDeleteWhy would Polanski want to watch a movie about the murder of his pregnant wife? He is a terrible person but he did love Sharon and sincerely grieved her. This all sounds in questionable taste, even for Tarantino.
ReplyDeleteTarantino always defended Polanski before he got called out for it. Because pulling a Bill Cosby with ass raping on a 13 year old is totally kosher, right Quentin? I mean for f*cks sake, when even Howard Stern is calling you out for being immoral you know you're in the wrong.

HS: Wait a second. If you have sex with a 13-year-old girl, and you’re a grown man, you know that that’s wrong.
RQ: And you’re giving her booze and pills…
QT: Look. She was down with it.
HS: Ooooooh.
RQ: Oh, you’re crazy. You’re crazy.
QT: And she’s talked about it, she’s talked about it. Now, now that she’s an adult.
RQ: You are so crazy.
QT: I’m, I’m right. She’s talked about it since, about, “No, he didn’t really do anything to me, it was a technicality from being 13.”
Repulsion and rosemary's baby pretty much invented the modern horror movie, Chinatown is one of the greatest ever. Hate the man but his work is undeniable.
ReplyDelete@longtime, And he should be able to watch his movies from his cell. Do you wonder if he keeps suicide pills on him at all times in the off chance authorities grab him or he just boards the wrong plane?
ReplyDelete@Rosemary possibly he wanted Polanski to see it and either critique or tell him he approved of the way Sharon was portrayed in the film.
ReplyDeleteoh pls he praised his work, it's valid
ReplyDeleteSeems only polite to screen a movie based on someone’s experience for the person. Think it would be rude to do otherwise no matter who it is.
ReplyDeleteThey're both scummy, but Polanski WAS married to Sharon Tate when she was murdered. He had every right to attend the screening.
