+1 filmfanb, Plus a bunch of the cast donated their pay and spoke against Allen.
They could only release it in NYC like half of his sh!t films. Honestly look at his IMDB, he used to crank out about one turd a year but most people never heard of them.
I still love the Sleeper, particularly the medical advice scene.
Roman Polanski
^^^^^^^ Me too!
Polanski...
The trailer for this is odd...very much lighthearted Woodman of old but you just can't look at it without a sinister eye anymore. And it's clear Selena cannot act, so there's that creepy undertone to it too...
+1
Allen's Take the Money and Run is really funny
Allen's Rainy Day in NY - where a Elle Fanning is pursued by Timothy Chalemet, but Fanning's character is woo'd by 30-years older Liev Schrieber. Yuck. No thank you. Gross.
Allen is a genius
Bec--That's the plot? Ick. It's like he cant help himself on the subject😜
That being said, I do love/enjoy so many of his movies. I was just thinking of Sweet and Lowdown this weekend.
Yes, great news! I read that it's going to be released all over Europe, so it'll end up online, and maybe in some indie theater here in NY at some point. I look forward to seeing it.
Similar situations going on for Kevin Spacey and possibly Tom Hanks..... Sleeping giant/public is waking up to the yuck factor?
Woody Allen has made some of the greatest films of all time and nope, I don't believe the allegations.
Unlike Polanki, where the proof of his vile crimes are myriad, Woody is embroiled in a He Said/She Said situation with a very unstable Mia Farrow. Is he a bit of a pervert, yes. Please find me a man who would not date a barely legal teen and I will show you a closet gay man. Woody Allen has made some of the greatest films in American history and will continue to do so and I will watch them. To put him in the same category as Charlie Sheen, Roman Polanski, Or Brian singer is absurd. Manhattan is one of the greatest movies ever made hands-down and he’s got a dozen other films in that category or approaching it. Dégas one of the greatest painters ever, what is most certainly a Paedophile and Is shocking anti-Semite. And his paintings of ballerinas are some of the greatest works of art ever created. Do we toss them on the bonfire because he was a bad guy? Let’s be careful to make absolutely 100% sure that the people we are painting with a giant scarlet letter or actually guilty before we destroy their lives in the public domain like a pack of jackals.
The case against Woody Allen was strong. The only reason they chose not to prosecute was for fear of re-traumatizing his daughter.
The choice to let him off the hook should never be taken as some kind of proof of innocence.
