Good for this former B+ list mostly movie actress turned show killer turned can't get a job because of that show killing to turn the tables and get behind the camera. The thing is though, she is still on double secret probation so any directing would have to be more of the same. Independently financed short films or something out of her own pocket.

"double secret probation" I still love that movie!
That's how that works u til you prove yourself in the job Entern. If her small films make money, she will get a chance with more money to make money. And since she can write her own films she can make a lot of them to prove herself.
She's is B.
She could always do supporting roles in indies for a while, and give the baby as the excuse why. Then, start writing again and get into directing as the kid gets older.
Sarah Polley did that route after she blew up her career to get off Avonlee and no one would hire her for anything. Now, an oscar nominated director. She didn't have kids during that time.
Sarah Polley-- always makes me think of sci-fi-horror flick Splice with Adrien Brody. Holy crap, that one really stayed with me😵😜😵
Anyhow, Nikki Reed, that double secret probation is a lot of bad blood...one big success, all will be forgotten. More avenues for shorter fare to be seen now, too.

It's hard to believe she was seen as the next big thing and indie darling when Thirteen came out . She is so basic now
All of Entys ratings are inconsistent and wonky... it’s so annoying. Nikki Reed B+ ...not so much. And the most annoying thing is Enty doesn’t keep the same rating for that person in each blind, Enty is either forgetful or effing high and each time it different and annoying AF.
Not surprised. Don't forget how Nikki got started. She wrote the movie "13."
I get her confused with Ashley Green and I don't care enough to figure out the difference
If she wrote 13 she is extraordinarily talented.
She wrote 13 when she was 13, then starred in it when it was produced.
