    1. Lol Rosie thanks!! One of my faves. Took time off from everything and just moved back to the east coast so had to get settled.

  3. What a battle...decades long, in and out, on and off. There's no telling some of the lows this person has experienced, fame and fortunes aside.

  4. Still working the big hair even in that pic.

  5. Looks like the meth might have helped him lose some weight though.

  6. @MD, Hoped you had escaped, but CDAN drew you back in ;)

  7. Dude looked rough in the pictures I saw this AM. Shame when addiction has you that tightly.

I'd love for him to go somewhere and get off all meds/booze/drugs and start from scratch. He's probably on so many prescription meds he doesn't know which end is up.

  8. @Brayson. Thought about it though!!

  9. I saw the pics too, and my first thought is that it can't be meth cuz he's lookin' too fat to be on meth. Sadly, that's the good news.

I feel badly saying all of this because I really like Matthew and want him to be well. But he looks awful. And he's got clubbed fingers - that's really, really bad. I would be heartbroken if something happened to him.

  10. It looks more like he’s got some severe health problems. You can see he has medical devices and bags hooked up to him under his clothes. And he’s got marks from a long term nasal cannula across his cheek.

Getting your sustenance through an IV/feed line and losing part of your digestive system will also make a guy lose weight.

  11. Ooofdah! Looked at pics on the DM and he is bedraggled x2. The article said he hasn't been seen in two years!?

  12. Ugh, with all his health problems, so disappointed he is back on drugs. This will ultimately not end well for him. So sad.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Well if he's already dying then let him do all the drugs he wants. That's the point of retiring to Florida right?

  14. @MD, Well good to see you back :)

  15. He was extremely ill last year and hospitalized for over three months, I doubt he was able to work out. I've seen a lot of meth addicts and he doesn't look one to me, it looks like another substance or he's just very sick and depressed.

  16. His finger nails gave it away. So sad. Were are his friends?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Agree with Tink. The fingernails are a dead giveaway that this outside of, or in addition to, a mere medical condition (depending on your view on the disease of addiction) and into the realm of pipes and needles.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think the DM was suggesting he has a very serious drug problem and his fingernails look like shit.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I think the ruptured digestive tract is a sign the past use has taken a toll on his body, and there's no way it can handle further abuse. Those fingernails are disturbing, but how do they prove addiction (Im not doubting you, I just don't know)? The unkempt look of them screams depression and illness to me bc the edges are so misshapen and wild...the guy can't be doing much of anything physical, or those would snag, break off or drive him insane. Boy, this is genuinely sad, I hope he is getting help and care.

Welcome back, MD...I hope the move brings you happiness and success

  20. Charlie sheen, to be different

  21. Those pics in the DM were just awful. And you know that fucking rag never prints anything about the garbage reality they worship but then they shit all over MP who's clearly going thru a very bad time. Disgraceful

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hi Vita, I suppose I was being a little glib and in the strictest sense the fingernails do not prove anything, but circumstantially at least, I'd say they are indicative of something. I am ruling him out for manual labor (he looks too unwell to be doing anything strenuous and physical), and also gardening. I know this from experience that for whatever reason as soon as one starts playing around with pipes it's like the undersides of your fingernails become magnets to dirt. It never ceased to amaze me. Like, completely disproportionate to the amount of burnt matter, they just always seem to get dirty like that. I don't know what it is, but it's a pretty good giveaway. The other thing is stained clothing. Stained clothing on someone like him is also not great in terms of being reflective of recent sobriety. If I had to venture a guess that particular stain and it's position near the collar of his shirt is quite possibly saliva, and it would have collected there because of drooling whilst being "on the nod" which is another way of saying incapacitated and dropping in and out of consciousness due to opiate use.

  23. MD i missed you too!! glad you’re okay

  24. My heart is breaking for MP. He looks so very sick and not too long for this world.

    ReplyDelete
  25. 1. You guys know NOTHING about drugs, obviously.

    2. Matthew Perry's addiction issues are opiates, the exact opposite of meth, this is not him, people generally don't switch sides.

    3. Ruptured digestive track could easily EASILY be a result of opiate abuse due to the amount of constipation it causes. Yes. This is not a joke for a severe opiate addict.

    4. No opiate addict is going to start doing meth, that's totally ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Sorry Hunter but are you joking? Meth use is where opiate addicts go because they can't get enough pills to get them high and meth is cheaper. People always switch sides. Usually to Heroin but when you run out of money it's meth.

Besides his addict brain probably knows he can't ingest in pill form.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Does meth constipate too? Don't hear much about what it does to the digestive system.

    ReplyDelete
  28. He apparently is a really nice guy who even when in the depths of his addiction treated people nicer than he treated himself so I hope he can work through this and am hoping this is someone like Charlie Sheen. Not Matthew

    ReplyDelete
  29. @Brayson

I will leave it up to the imagination, but meth actually has the exact opposite action on the digestive system than opiates do. Opiates basically stop it.

  30. Thanks for the responses, Joseph P. And others.

Whether this particular blind is about MP or not, clearly he IS having a rough time. Hopefully, he'll find his way to better days.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Thanks Joseph!

If you've got the runs imodium works the same as vicodin, and is cheaper too!

  32. Lol, Brayson! With all the opioid abuse going around it's a surprise they haven't started using that as a slogan.

Tangentially related: there are enough people who suffer the consequences of "digestive slowdown" from Vicodin and the like that there is a prescription drug on the market targeted at those suffering from opioid-induced constipation. No joke.

A pill for every problem and a problem for every pill!

  33. anyone got a photo? I wanna see those nails...

Note the clubbed finger - often a bad sign of heart/lung problems.

Also - there's something long/rectangular under his clothing on his right side/front. It's too big to be a phone or tablet, and seems to have some sort of a white line/tube near is hand...? I'm assuming it's related to his intestinal issues? Any guesses as to what that is?

    1. @Tierney: I noticed that, too, and immediately thought portable colostomy.

Clubbed fingers/toes are also a sign of psoriatic arthritis, which often affects long term alcoholics. You can take drugs for it that will slow down the swelling but will not completely heal it.

I feel bad for him, he seems like a really good guy.

  35. +1 on the colostomy bag.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I don’t know enough about drug use to speculate. All i know is that he is rumored to be one of the nicest celebrities around. My heart breaks for him, after seeing these recent photos. I hope the photos being published, and the scrutiny it has brought, will cause him to get help. Or cause his friends to help out more. I wish him success. He obviously has a colostomy bag, and from reading comments on the DM article, that is a bitch, in and of itself. Which I’m sure brings on severe depression. I pray he gets the help he needs.

  37. Rumored to be one of the decent guys makes his haggardness harder to look at, as he seems on the verge of something very grave. If his parents are alive, my heart goes out to them. Matthew's been fighting this battle for a long time if the worst is to be believed and if he's actually stone cold sober recuperating from something medical and had just been out of the spotlight for the last two years, as opposed to garden variety junkie house-bound or something...either way, yeah, I hope he gets right and still feels like he can get back on it. He was semi-publicly actively in recovery seems only like 7 years ago. If I'm remembering that correctly it seems a steep fall in short time.

  38. I guess he saw the pictures too. This morning, on Twitter, he joked about getting a manicure, which I didn't understand until I read this blind.

    ReplyDelete
  39. @Pearl, thank you - I wasn't aware that could also be a cause of clubbed fingers. As uncomfortable as P.A. is, I hope it's that, instead of heart/lung problems.

I know all the love in the world can't save an addict, but at the very least I hope Perry knows that people think well of him and care about him (and not just because of Friends).

    ReplyDelete
  40. Aris, actually they usually jump from pills to heroin, not meth although there are obviously people that do. Heroin mimics the feeling of the pills unlike meth. Most people usually choose uppers or downers and not both. Again, it's not like there's a "rule". This has been my experience with 35 years in AA before I quit the program this year.

  41. I would have guessed Kiefer Sutherland for this.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Not gonna lie, as a peak GenXer, it makes me sad to see Matthew Perry with meth fingers and man tits.

    ReplyDelete
  43. @lindsey: is Kiefer mostly TV now?

Can I ask why? We all saw the Perry pics but has something been going on with KS?
