Friends, I need help with a trivia question. Can anyone tell me who played Forest Gump?
T.hanks in advance.
None of the above. But ocean if forced to.
Pool.
Because Sharks can't survive in chlorinated water.
=)
All of the above!
Ocean
Lake
River
Pool.
Wish I could right now ... stuck in Puerto Rico at airport for next 4 hours:(( Always delays here
Tom Hanks
Pool. Preferably my own
Private pool, then ocean.
Do yourself a favor and stay out of freshwater places, f*cking disgusting all the sh!t living in there not to mention the pollution.
River
Swimming is swimming. But I guess a natural body of water over a pool. Last year we swam in the Kickapoo river. Last time I was near the ocean it was too cold to swim so I used the resort's pool.
A Great Lake!
What do you get when you cross an Iranian and a Mexican?
Oil of Ol'e.
Saltwater pool.
Grew up by the beach and used to prefer the ocean, until almost drowning in a riptide 8 years ago. So now I prefer the pool.
Good call!
Best of all worlds 99% of the time.
Is anybody else creeped out by lakes? Most of them have water that is just... there. Nothing goes in, nothing goes out except by rain or evaporation...
All of the above. That said, some are better than others.
You know the way we have flippers on the end of our arms and legs?
No?
Doesn't that tell you something?
Stay out of that stuff.
A private pool that no children have access to.
Ocean or Infinity Pool
lakes are creepy indeed
@roque aren’t those technically ponds? AFAIK, lakes are tied to the water table. Water table underground gets depleted? Lake goes down. Spring feeding lake gets blocked or diverted? Lake dies.
Read up on the Salton Sea some time if you’re not familiar with it. CA used up so much of our native water table, what was a thriving inland sea turned into a toxic borderline ghost town in a few decades. The stench in summer is epic.
Lake, river, ocean, pool...
Salt water pool. I love the ocean but prefer to swim in hygienic water.
Grown up on lake, but on clean, see to the bottom days, my heaven!...no weedy or stagnant waters!
Never been swimming in a river. Jaws destroyed oceans for me...i love the beauty and sounds, but, more than a little cautious wading or snorkeling gets me spooked.
Love a swimming pool, especially now with salt water instead of chlorine.
Candy, you rock!😁
Argh!!
Clegg season now in full swing here. Just got bitten by one of the wee bastards ten minutes ago out the back!
Hurts like buggery now. Might have a pretty sore swollen arm in the morn. Just washed it with vinegar and then Sudocrem. Sudocrem is the tits!
Jesus I can't wait for winter now. And wasp season hadn't arrived yet. Goodammit, it's meant to be wet here in summer!!!
NOT the lake! So creepy. If the ocean takes you then it's kind of understandable but the lake? Embarrassing. No reason to die in a lake by anything other than your own fault or some lake monster that they'll never be able to prove existed so they'll blame it on you.
Pool. Lake for skiing. Ocean kayaking. River:No.I was almost taken by one in a split second.
Flashy-- what is a clegg? I'm picturing small, winged Sandor Cleganes attacking you. No bueno!
It actually feels like it might have been.
They're horse flies I think. We just call them cleggs. It's not too bad now, I think I got the vinegar on it in time. I just plet my dog out to do his stuff and it was a beautiful late evening twilight. Normally they're out in the day but this must have been a stealth bastard or something.
We live on an awesome lake, fed by a long river, but I gotta' admit, in the shallows you have to watch out for snapping turtles, so that's no fun if you have little kids wanting to swim. Also in the shallows where any plant life is are leeches. The kayaking is great and there's tons of water to help put out the bonfire after beers and 'smores with the neighbors. Not gonna' lie, lake life is a great way to live!
Lake or river. Chlorine effs with my hair and salt water is cold and makes me itch.
Pool.
My pool.
Ocean? sharks
Lake? Leeches/gators
River? gators
Pool for me, now.
I lived on a lake my whole (earlier) life, which I loved but it was too cold for any real swimming. Some of the bays and inlets along the shoreline were okay though.
I do have to say, I've swam in the ocean a couple of times and I absolutely loved it.
We have a couple of very large, crystal clear lakes here in the Midwest - you can see your toes when in the water. I prefer one of these lakes! NOT lake of the ozarks - which is literally mucky green / brown and every summer ecoli alerts go out.. If I can't be at / in Table Rock Lake, then it's the pool... and no way a public pool...
God bless y’all that can navigate rivers expertly! Oceans, I won’t get in above waist deep. The currents of both have carried me away. I like my pool!
Lake
Pool
Ocean
River
Spring-fed lake. They are clear and clean.
regular lakes get all green in the summer. yuck.
Rivers not so much. Used to float one in Oklahoma in the summer until it was revealed that water moccasins lived in the fallen wood near the shore, and that chicken guts were thrown in upstream.
Ocean okay for wading.
Definitely ocean.
Rivers
tropical ocean. no rivers ever
For actual swimming, pool.
For floating and relaxing, ocean for sure.
Now I want to go to the beach!
Hanniam, the Salton Sea was an accident dating back to 1905. This is long but see the second paragraph for details of that accidental beginning:
