Blind Item #2

Without the disgraced A-list Director at the helm, the most recent installment of a huge film franchise completely bombed.  The losses were so massive, they hurt the entire media conglomerate which bought the studio.

    1. Disney bought Fox that made it and had decreased revenues

  2. Yeah, most of the recent X-men movies have been garbage. I wouldn't think it would be that hard to make a good one.

  3. My wife is correct.

Super Hero Films have "Jumped the Shark!"

  8. It bombed because Sophie was horribly miscast.

  9. @David Howes - you can't say superhero films have totally jumped the shark after how satisfying Avengers:End Game wrapped up the series.

With a Black Panther sequel, A Thor movie withh Valkyrie as an out lesbian, and a Guardians3/Thor mash up, I think there's a lot of potential in the Marvel universe.

I can’t believe the studio or anyone for that matter thinks the movie flopped because of Singer. The movie was as boring as oats on hot water, Sophie turner cant act for her life’s sake and the fans like myself are tired of seeing a billion movies made about Jean Gray when the universe has a hundred more interesting characters.

  11. I can give you 3.8 billion examples of why superhero films haven't jumped the shark yet. (Endgame and Far From Home made 3.8 billion at the box office so far)

  12. As a fan of the comics (mostly DC Comics, 2000AD and others not named Marvel), I can say that "superhero" movies (not all comic book movies are superhero ones, just look at "Blue Is The Warmest Colour") have most certainly NOT "jumped the shark".

Hell, there's still several hundred storylines and characters we've yet to see on TV and the big screen, including those cut from already-released movies (such as Darkseid being cut when that hack Joss Whedon carved up the Justice League movie and took out the "time travel to save the dead heroes and beat the villain" plotline from it).

A lot of things (reality TV, rap music, countless other things I dislike) have jumped the shark but anything to do with comic books hasn't. The only people saying that are ignorant people who like to control the enjoyment of others.

  13. It was essentially a remake of the one from ten years ago where they offer Cyclops.

  14. Also check out The Boys for a great comic book show. Grant Morrison has written some of the most thoughtful comics. What if superheroes were essentially NASCAR drivers, or any other sponsor type of sport.

  16. That movie really pissed me off.
All that money. All that time. All that source material...
    Pathetic

  17. If you're over 23 and still watching superhero movies, you've got mental health problems. Luckily for Hollywood, vast swathes of America have mental health problems.

Good. Maybe the entire comic book genre is ending . We can only hope

  19. Please. More than directing can tank a movie. They forced the Dark Phoenix story into its own movie before giving the character enough air time in the recent films for the non fanboys to care.

  20. If you're over 18 and come to random sites to judge people about what movies they watch, then you've got mental health problems.

Luckily, the vast amount of vapid judgmental cunts that have that type of mental health problem are hardly ever taken seriously.
