Blind Item #9

As I told you weeks ago, there was no way this cable network was going to change the name of their icon award to something generic or remove the A++ lister from the name. Now, the cable network has confirmed there will be no change.

  3. Super excited that Missy Elliott is getting it this year, she is amazing

  4. I'm glad MTV kept MJ's name on the award, as it should be. He earned every accolade he received with hard work and talent.

    1. He’s was the most famous pedophile ever! Who cares! Change the name already. He was incredibly talented but he raped little kids. Does MTV really want that association?

  5. I agree with keeping MJ on the award. OF COURSE we don't condone his behavior, but the fact is he essentially (plus the Jackson 5) created a genre of music and also dance. If it wasn't for him being a pioneer, who knows the direction that music would move in (in his specific genre).

I still love his music. The message and I don't apologize for it. I grew up in the 80's and lived it all. Best time of my life. He's dead now, close the book. There are SO many other people in the music business who do dirty deeds. I hate the politically correct mindset. I speak what I feel and if someone is "triggered" (DETEST that word, bunch of snowflakes, toughen UP!) too bad. If I'm wrong, I'll apologize for it, own up to it, but in this case I stand firm. He absolutely deserved that award and taking it away would be just another thing to appease the SJW and I'm tired of them destroying what we built up. /rant

  6. There was an article saying that they should rename the award after this years recipient, Missy Elliot.

    1. They should just call it the Vanguard award, which was the original name.

  7. She’s certainly a contributor and a pioneer but nowhere near iconic status.

Ripples in the water...his victims still are in pain. Today.

You're obviously ignorant about PTSD, but whether you like it or not it's real.

  10. I believe Missy who is getting it this year is friends with Janet Jackson, so people believe that had something to do with it not being changed.

  11. He may have been a predator. If you go back and read the interaction between him and Warhol "are you a fruit or something" it's hard to believe that he would become the melty face man dangling kids off of balconies and the whole Jesus juice fiasco. Dude was super talented and I wish he could have lived long enough to sober up and help his fuckup daughter. She's hurting bad. Nobody fills their arms with disappearing ink like she does without some sort of psychic pain.

  12. MJ re-invented pop music. Are we gonna re-wite art history because Picasso was a sexist creep?

  13. No one's talking about deleting MJ's songs from "history" - it's not a great analogy longtimereader.

Raping kids is below mistreating women on most people's scales, I'd wager. So not a great analogy in that way either.

Don't know of any awards named for Picasso, although I'm not sure how the MTV Vanguard is named for MJ so none of this makes a lot of sense to me. I thought the MTV award was a spaceman.

I mean "sexist creeps" are everywhere, so it's a bit of a dishonest comparison really.

Do NOT twist my words! The FIRST thing I said was, "I do NOT condone his behavior". Do you think I have no sympathy towards his victims? Get real. I was never molested, but I experienced full-on rape. If you want to define the two as the same, do so. I'm 52 and I let it go in my 20's. My bad experience happened when I was 19. I was not going to let it define me. It was not going to end my life the very day it happened. You want his victims to spend their ENTIRE lives with that on their back? BOTTOM LINE, HE'S DEAD. No justice will be served because he's dead. That's why I saying (for the victims) in due time with lots of therapy, they'll have to let it go or else they've let him destroy their lives! Other people in the entertainment industry that we gossip about are NOT "ripples" they're just as culpable, but the good thing is they're ALIVE and justice or a semblance of can be served (WE HOPE).

When Jackson was ALIVE, he WAS put on trial and he WON and was declared innocent. If you want to lay blame or be angry, go after the Judge or the system, not me.

When I was referring to my anger about "triggering" I wasn't talking about THE VICTIMS, I was talking about the entirety of what I said. That I was going to say it. I REFUSE to be silenced because of something I feel and also it's my right. Although that's pretty much become null and void with all social media. I now recognize that what I said could be mistrued that I did not care about the victims, but in absolute honesty that's NOT what I meant nor what I was implying to. Going back to what I FIRST pointed out. I do not condone his behavior and one would think, the pain the victims went/and are going thru. OF COURSE if you understood one, you should have understood the other! They go hand-in-hand. I'm not a heartless monster.

Before you assume ANYTHING about me, ASK. I've been in therapy since 2001 for PTSD. I take medication. I don't feel like I'm going to lose my mind and go off and murder people, the torture is all mine inside my head. I'm still not "healed", but I'm much better. I haven't worked since 2001, I live on the vast earnings I made before the incident happened which I'm extremely lucky and thankful for. Yes I require therapy for this particular issue, but its not even the same as rape therapy. Its something completely different. I'm not letting it define my life, I live my life to the fullest. The PTSD inside my head is different because it affects me physically. Before you say I'm equating one bigger than the other, I'm not. I'm merely saying for BOTH at some point you HAVE to live your life. Move on. Let it go the best you can. Do not let whatever has harmed you define you nor control you. OR, YOU'VE put yourself in a life prison.

I'm FAR from ignorant of PTSD or ANY trauma-based situation. I DO know its real because I'm fucking LIVING IT. So do me a favor, next time ASK the question of why I said what I did (or anyone for that matter) and that it came off this way or that, and you're curious. Let the person TELL you what they meant. Otherwise YOU come off as an ignorant asshole for assuming the worst of someone you don't even know.

Now, evidently this "triggered" you, and I thought I made it crystal clear what my thoughts were on Jackson. Above you've read the entirety of my claim, I did not lie nor enhance my pain for its real. I did not want to talk about this with everyone, but when my own character is slandered, I have to speak up for myself.

I'm NOT about anger, I'll let this go. I have no ill will against you, I do not want to be enemies on this board. Life is too short for petty nonsense amongst strangers. I'd rather be your friend. Good day.

    Boo -

    Take an enormous chill pill.

There's no way I am reading that.

  16. @Samantha the First - FY and your "chill pill". Of course you won't read what I wrote because you're a coward who spits it out ALLLLLL the time to everyone else, assumes everything, and if we defend ourselves you won't read what we write, nor apologize. Are you afraid to read the truth that you'd have to apologize for? You're not above everyone else here. In all my years of being on this site, I've NEVER posted anything like this, but now you've pissed me off. It takes a lot since I'm normally a calm person and I stick to the gossip. However, you assumed way too much about me, wrote personal slander, and yet you were completely wrong about everything. You should have been saying that you were sorry, but you're just like the people I've been talking about, will never apologize because they always have to be right and have the last word. I'd guess that's exactly what you'll do its so predictable, however, I won't assume, prove me wrong.
